Apollo5600: I'm starting to get the feeling that Cain's staff are doing their best to keep Cain encouraged. It's quite tragic what is happening to Cain and our political system here. Cain is finished. How many of us men have given money to another woman without our wife's knowledge or consent? And to do it for 13 years because she was a "Friend"?

I will say a prayer for their marriage. It doesn’t really MATTER that he didn’t have an affair with her, she well may be a liar. BUT if any spouse hides giving monthly payments to a person of the opposite sex for years and doesn’t tells his/or her spouse is in some serious trouble - the TRUST factor between the two is broken. I’ll pray for them but I believe he’s gone.
I saw him on Hannity tonight, and he didn’t sound too promising that he was staying in the campaign. He mentioned family concerns which is a legitimate concern. But it just makes me so angry how the left can dog our candidates until they throw in the towel because they don’t want to put their families through all this, ala Sarah Palin. That’s why we keep getting stuck with these old geezers like McCain and Bob Dole. They would probably be flattered if a bevvy of women came out of the woodwork claiming vast sexual activity.
Cain has repeatedlly stated that he is a problem solver.
Well, he’s got a few problems here HE needs to solve.
One is a lousy campaign staff and handlers who aren’t helping him out of this mess, if he is able to be helped. The other seems to be an inability to extract the proof needed from his accusers to free himself of these allegations.
Can he do anything about either one? Time will tell. If he’s really innocent of it all, I pray he can.
Still, it's good to have other reliable FReepers pointing out and endorsing the technique.

Herman Cain gets accused of an affair(s) - just ACCUSED - and it's all we hear about for a month.
And Rove/Romney: someone still needs to explain to me how it is your TEAM (especially Rove) always knew about the coming accusations BEFORE EVEN HERMAN CAIN DID!!!!!! Anyone? Anyone?
I think Palin is the rare exception, she really does have as much if not influence outside of a political campaign. Her endorsement matters. Cain’s won’t.
I really wanted to believe in Cain. I had very high hopes for him, but he gave this woman money without telling his wife? I think the other women were liars or puppets or both, but this last one is too sketchy.
I wish Palin had finished her term in Alaska, then run in this race. But hey—if wishes were horses, beggars would ride!
However, these people are easily exposed and sent packing.
Watch for trolls closely on this thread. Check the following:
a) FR sign up dates (fairly recently or only before a major national election);
b) very thin/rare posting history on FR if on for any number of years
c) statement(s) on the thread of previous support of Herman Cain ("but now changing mind"), but upon investigation no previous support verbalized in Posting History for Cain
d) a Posting History riddled with anti-Cain rhetoric, particularly recent. Obssessive and repeated. Thread jumping with constant anti-Cain comments.
Upon finding one or a combination of these, depending on the circumstances, consider affxing the "brand" to the thread as an alert.
Such as, if I were a troll (perish the thought), and you were strongly convinced of it by checking the above factors, place
((AmericanInTokyo)) in a simple post on the thread.
He's out of time.
It's one thing to have an adulterous past. People can be forgiving of past indiscretions. This one was discovered on the Campaign trail. He doesn't have time to turn it around. Hell, his wife just found out about this crap when we did. His wife didn't know until today that he was giving money to another woman up until a couple of months ago.
Cain is done. If he were younger, he could run again in 12 years. Time heals all wounds. But 4 weeks is not going to be enough time.
He needs to pack it in.
