Looking back at American history, Herman Cain has a lot in common with George Washington. Washington never really wanted, nor actively sought out the top military leadership role in our fight and war for independence from Great Britain.
He was, like all of us a flawed man, to a degree, with many mistakes, shortcomings and failings in both his personal and military life. Brash actions in conflicts, a French diplomat killed while on diplomatic mission, witnessing the death of his sixteen year old step daughter in his arms, all served to mold and form Washington into the future great leader he became.
Upon receiving the top command, he continued to be haunted by this trail of stumbles throughout the campaigns and battles of Revolutionary War. But little by little, bit by bit, miscue after miscue, mistake after mistake, Mr. Washington through experience and leadership, developed into, both a mature and wise leader of, first the Continental army, and later the nation itself.
And ..as a leader who often sought the advice of others, he wisely heeded the counsel of his French allies to engage the British army at Yorktown, Virginia, rather then New York, where he had previously been beaten badly by the British enemy
And yes, like all great men and women, he effectively learned to choose a team of subordinates that were able and vastly capable of supporting him, in battle, in administration and wise counsel
Such a man was George Washington, the man, the war leader, the first President ..of America. And as the work in progress continues and America has an opportunity to bring a man to the fore that will forge us all into one nation with equality, freedom and liberty for all citizens.
Such a man is Herman Cain.

hahahaha, and they just keep coming.
I like this. Cain seems to “forge” himself stronger through the media attacks. G-d bless Herman Cain. As he said last night, “Do you think I am doing this for FUN??”
Oh please. This article is such horse crap I can’t even believe someone posted it. Herman Cain is done.
We are dealing here with the products of the Brave New World Educational System.
Herman Cain definitely shares many of the characteristics of the father of our country. He is a clear thinker; has the right instincts for what needs to be done to save our republic; is bold and forthright, and walks with the same Co-Pilot.
We are very fortunate to have such a man running for the presidency today.
I could Google that word to find out what it means, but Im just gonna pretend like I didnt see it :)
Painful parsing of words.
Cain is the quintessential BSer.
Then when he gets picked apart and trys to be serious he stumbles about.
He is not good and NOT being a BSer
and George Washington’s Mom was a Loyalist and supported those same “British enemy”
He is not good “at” NOT being a BSer
Nobody is worthy of being compared to Washington in this day and age. Washington was a man with conviction and purpose.
Although I like Cain, he in no way is comparable to Washington. This IDOL WORSHIP reminds me of 2008 when Obummer was being portrayed as a messiah, worthy of being worshipped. It’s completely ridiculous! We are not going to find a second comming of Washington or Reagan in the current GOP field...probably ever, though it would be nice to find someone with the ethics and morals to try to fix our country!
I do not want our very own Negra president, or our very own First Female president.
I want someone who understands the challenges and understands the job.
I want someone who understands the machine.
Entirely untested and, at times, not articulated well. I don't know why people still take Cain's candidacy seriously. He's not interested in studying and he's no sharper on message.
They're still clinging to the hope that Cain will be what they want him to be rather than what he's decided to be.
so you think we need MORE professional politicians in washington?
I would take 500 Cain’s over the group we have now
Gingrich too- he is not perfect but he BALANCED THE BUDGET ONCE BEFORE!!!!!!
While you may not agree with the assessment making comparisons with historical figures is not uncommon. All good (or great) leaders have characteristics that make them successful. Such characteristics are finite, therefore someone making such a comparison between 2 people they admire isn’t ridiculous and doesn’t warrant such condescension.
I can see similarities between Newt and Ben Franklin. Both men are erudite and capable of clearly explaining complex thought. But, there are also qualities (good & bad) that they don’t share. Is it possible for you to discuss the particular qualities being compared instead of making a blanket statement and then insulting someone? Make an argument for why the 2 DON’T have XYZ in common.
Seriously, what do insults do to further the conversation? Heck, you might be right but we’ll never know because instead of sharing your knowledge of history & historical figures you start insulting people. I see that kind of attitude on display all the time with liberals, when they’re discussing conservatives. Can’t we be a little better than that? You might even be able to increase our understanding of important people and events that helped make this such a great nation.
Cindie
Cant we be a little better than that?
Apparently not.
Well then why not share your knowledge instead of hurling insults?
Cindie
I’m still waiting on Johnnie to prove the lie he tried to float about me, claiming I was running around from thread to thread trashing the other candidates. Seems Johnnie needs another hobby.
I like Herman Cain but after describing a number of Washington’s characteristics the article fails to point to a single characteristic of Cain to make the comparison. The article fails on an academic basis. Half of an analogy is no analogy at all.
Then go back to the post I was responding to and see if you can find any insults in that post. I think it would be interesting to read your response back. Thanks.
