As I mentioned earlier, I doubt this plays out the way Perry’s campaign thinks it will.
The big difference here is that the media’s influence with these smear tactics probably will not work with the Republican base, and that’s all that matters at this point for Perry. Now, if the goal was another Anita Hill...that might work, but only in the general election - it will not work here, and will likely backfire.

I lived through the growth period of the sexual harassment industry in the 90's. I know how many women tried to jump on the gravy train of accusing a senior that they did not like. I also know that many of them were paid some sort of settlement that their company felt was cheaper than suffering through an extended legal battle that included them going away forever.
I would venture that the allegations brought were false and the women were gold diggers who took some cash and ran.
If this is the sort of crap Perry or Romney (or any of them) is going to use. They’ve already LOST my vote.
These accusations mean nothing to those of us who remember what happened to Palin.

The bridegroom, 34, is a senior staff writer in Arlington, Va., for Politico, the political news Web site and newspaper, for which he covers campaign finance and the conservative movement.
The couple met in May 2006, when Ms. Rosengarten began a summer law clerkship in Washington with the House of Representatives Committee on Homeland Security. Mr. Vogel was finishing a 10-month journalism fellowship through the American Political Science Association, during which he, too, worked for the committee staff. They sat in adjoining cubicles in the Ford House Office Building.
