Just heard Herman Cain being interviews on Imus in the morning on WABC. Seems he's cleared up all the controversy - showing how the media takes things out of context. Not necessarily a Cain supporter, but could become one very easy. He's saying the right things. NOTE: you can probably catch the interview on WABC if they archived it.
I see that one of St Rick’s evangelical leaders is whining about the Alabama immigration law.

Great post. I’ll search for it and listen if I can. Cain inspires me. His polite manner and civil tone, his blunt honesty, his substance..and humor. I could go on :-)
Last night even Fox news (can’t recall who) were breathlessly saying he was going on a 4 week book tour in the middle of a campaign!!! gasp! The book tour was planned, the decision yesterday by Florida to move the calendar has other states scrambling...I’m sure Herman Cain knows enough about unplanned events to adjust his schedule accordingly.
Your other observations have me nodding my head in agreement. The scorched earth tactic is one I suspect 0bama and his more liberal followers would use..like petulant children. I think the race card will still be played all the way through the election...but it is (in my mind) going to have far far less impact.
"I am black on the outside, and red white and blue on the inside!" - LOL, priceless!
Free Republic needs a setting for political threads during the campaign for the nomination that prevents newbies from posting.
I'm unclear on what you are wanting Herman to clean. Can you explain?
But, but, but...what happened to I am done with that issue..
He has said that like 7 times now and runs off yappin’ about it again.
hahahahaha!
There are better alternatives to Romney than Perry.
We are just playing into the MSMs hands to the extent we keep the subject alive.
Let's just let it go.
I’m getting the feeling that some of these Perry supporters have taken the playbook used by the old Paulistas on how to attack FReepers who don’t agree with them. Is it in the water down there?
This sounds like something Obama might say!
ML/NJ
PerryKrishnas! Good one.
“There are better alternatives to Romney than Perry.”
I know there is a better alternative to Romeny but who is the alternative to Perry?
Aww what’s the matter, truth stings a little? You only want to ALLOW the *clique* to comment? Sorry if “newbie” blood offends you.
Herman Cain is doing what every Presidential candidate ought to do ...and what MOST of them have forgotten how to do or feel themselves ABOVE doing.
Herman Cain is talking to America.
Years ago, a male friend was dating again after many years of marriage and he was having trouble talking to women.
He said he finally understood when he realized that he had to be ‘interested’ instead of trying to be ‘interesting’.
Mr. Cain is ‘INTERESTED’ and for ONCE in a long time we have a candidate who comprehends that it is NOT about HIM!!!!
Bingo! Hard to tell if they are trolls trying to divide us or genuine conservatives.....Viking Kitties have hard work during these times!
I like Rick Perry.
Conservatives have got to stop attacking each other.
Great link.
All three are true conservatives. Heck, Newt might even be better (okay, okay....they're tied.....). I would include Santorum, but don't think he has the slightest chance.
I give up...here are the actual words Cain originally said, people. Post #8 on the thread:
**************
“And since Governor Perry has been going there for years to hunt, I think that shows a lack of sensitivity for a long time of not taking that word off of that rock and rename the place. It is just a basic case of insensitivity”
“For him to leave it there as long as he did before I hear they finally painted it over, it is just plain insensitive to a lot of black folks in this country”

Cain backs off criticism of Perry ranch, denies playing ‘race card’

That is a terrible thing for you to say! Shame on you! An apology is warranted!
