Just Heard Herman Cain on WABC (Vanity)

Just heard Herman Cain being interviews on Imus in the morning on WABC. Seems he's cleared up all the controversy - showing how the media takes things out of context. Not necessarily a Cain supporter, but could become one very easy. He's saying the right things. NOTE: you can probably catch the interview on WABC if they archived it.

a) Clarified that his comments were NOT against Perry, and we should all drop the subject. b) Clarified that the current income tax system needs to be DROPPED. Of course he hyped-up his 999 plan c) said again that people were proud to vote for whats-his-name because he was black, but now folks have remorse and are OVER IT.

While watching the news cycle of the past couple weeks, I am becoming increasingly suspect of FOX NEWS for allowing too often interviews and incidents to be mischaracterized by other media (including themselves) only to stur controversy (Herman Cain and Hank Williams) being the latest two examples.

Speaking of Hank: It was nice to hear Don Imus come to his defense this morning regarding comments WIlliams made on Fox & Friends this morning. (Warning to ESPN and others: I would cease repeating that Hank made a Hitler comparison to the president. The transcripts prove that allegation FALSE and is actionable in court if Hank decides to push back). Hank in this black man's opinion was SPOT ON in his comment on F&F , but that's just my pair of pennies.

In all, I must say it was one of Cain's best interviews to date. And no, his campaign is not on hold. He has a busy schedule. My favorite line was in response to being called an 'Oreo' (racist term): " I am black on the outside, and red white and blue on the inside!" . Folks let me tell you: That statement alone bought him a few thousand more votes in the WABC listening audience.

Cain also intimated something without saying it directly: All the dems have left is playing the race card. Cain says 'that dog won't hunt' this time. Of course they also have the scorched-earth strategy (insurrection. mayhem, and utter chaos) which they are currently planting the seeds. (See: Occupy Wall Street)

My final word is some advice the the Palinistas out there (in which I are one): Sarah, if you're gonna run, as Don Imus says, you better 'git it on yer mind' fast, cuz the Cain Train is leaving the station, and probably taking a whole lot of Real Americans with it.

Thanks for the update. Makes more sense than several of the comments about his intentions for the campaign.

On thing about Cain is the fact that I personally like him and trust him. I don’t agree with everything he says and does but trust carries him a long way.

If only Hank had said "Oil & Water".

Oh wait. ...Oil is Black.

That would have been calle racist too by the race baiters.

Tell Herman Cain to clean this up!

Can Perry Put His Hunting Camp Problem Behind Him? (They want to HEAR him deny it)

On Fox this am, Laura Ingram was talking about hearing Zero is and how he is always saying how awful things are. I like Cain he exudes enthusiasm and real HOPE, not pretend hookey

Yea, he wants to *drop it* because it cost him a lot of support the past couple of days. Sorry, I ain’t buying it, he showed us a glimmer of what can be a huge flaw, pandering to the gays, playing the race card and attacking his fellow repubs. Seems to me he was trying to gain some *street cred* with the race card, and that to me is a fatal error that I cannot forgive. Obama is the enemy, let’s see him attack him with such fervor as he shows for his own party.

Perry has more problems than this stupid rock thing.

He cooked his own goose with his "heartless" statement and not backing AZ.

Why don't you go find a Perry thread to post on? You are fast becomming the new pissant of the FR Perry threads.

He seems to have done just that, maybe it's time for you Perry supporters to let it go.

Did you hear his actual, original comments?

Disregarding what people say he said, and disregarding what he now says he said, his actual words at the time most certainly did include Rick Perry in his accusations of “racial insensitivity”, then, later, after receiving all the blowback against what he said, he began to say his comments were only about the word on a rock being racially insensitive, not Perry.

But that just isn’t true.

Millions of people heard his words and there are transcripts. His words were not taken out of context. He accused Perry, with no facts other than a smear piece in the WaPo, of leaving the word visible over a period of time and only later, or eventually, covering it up, and he called that, racially insensitive towards Blacks.

His words have been posted on Free Republic on a thread about this whole thing.

I would go and get them for you, but I have to wonder why you don’t inform yourself about what he said, before you post that it’s all the medias fault and that Cain didn’t say what he said.

BUMP to your post.

Perry indeed has caused his own problems. He deserves his decline in the polls, he earned it all by himself.

He’s not promising to bring Utopia which is a good thing. Too many candidates are so desperate for voters that they’ll promise great miracles they can’t deliver. Unfortunately too many voters fall for it and are disappointed.

I stand on his original words. Millions of people heard them, and there are transcripts. His original words are one thing, what he now says about them is quite different. In effect he denies saying what he said. Nobody is going to intimidate those who heard, and can read, into believing he didn’t say them.

Cain wants to move beyond this, even if it was a simple gaffe, it's nothing compared to Perry's serial idiocy concerning illegals or LaRaza. Maybe you should consider Perry's repeated original words on illegals instead.

But you won't........you'd rather think the rock thing is big.........

Governor Perry’s foolishness will never get cleaned up because it is always in the “spin cycle”.

True, I’m sure you would rather have Romney instead. If you can’t have it your way, then destroy all the options.

I was one of the first to go after Cain because of his interviews with Chris Wallace and Christiane Amapour. I have read the Washington Post article.

However, Cain has backed away from his comments in the interviews, and it does no-one any good, Perry's camp or Cain's, to keep harping on it.

We are just playing into the MSM’s hands to the extent we keep the subject alive.

Let's just let it go.
