Where are the "Palin isn't running" Brigade?
Saturday August 20, 2011 | Floyd Resse

Posted on 08/20/2011 2:26:12 PM PDT by Bigtigermike

It's interesting that in the past 24 to 48 hours, we haven't heard much from a line of posters who repeatedly visits threads about Sarah Palin to remind everybody that Palin wasn't running for the President. It has nothing to do with ramping up speculation from some of the naysayers in the media that she is going to run? Which is silly since anybody paying any amount of attention to the past year at the very least could see that things were pointing to Palin most likely making a run eventually for the Presidency.

By the way, the same people claiming over and over again that Sarah wasn't running also kept speculating that she would endorse candidate X, be it Herman Cain, Tim Pawlenty, Michele Bachmann or the new flavor of the month Rick Perry (supposedly to had endorse him last Saturday at the IA State Fair to be exact from the experts)

You attacked another freeper for making a post, by claiming he was nasty and some other evil things.

I responded by looking at his comment, and explaining why it was nothing like you said.

And instead of responding, you decline to comment? You are the one who called it nasty, and claimed three separate low notes. But if you aren’t willing to actually have a discussion about your own claims, why should we try to understand you?

I don’t mean that to sound rude — I looked at your complaint, looked at what he said, and wrote a pretty detailed explanation of why I thought your claim was wrong. I was expecting you to explain why you thought you were right, not to withdraw from the discussion and refuse to talk about your own words.

Seriously — do you disagree with me that Free Republic regularly has pro-Palin posts that speak gleefully about how she is toying with the media?

I said in my post that I disagreed with the original comment; my argument is with your claim that the argument was out-of-bounds and unworthy of discussion.

I’ve craved foods with these nutrients and ate them. I try to listen to my body and do what I need to do to balance things out.

Then you're more perceptive than a lot of others.

Once I understood the physiological data about heat sickness, I applied it religiously in my daily work life. I also demanded that my employees do the same. I provided salt and potassium to them for free, because I not only wanted a full day's work out of them, but I cared about their welfare too.

Symptoms of salt depletion are very uncomfortable, and even dangerous in my line of work.

I once had to let a guy go because he refused to take salt on blistering hot days. The guy fell apart on me at a job where I was really depending on him. He thought that ice cold Coca Cola was the answer, and crapped out before the day was done. Here I was, twice his age, and I kicked butt the whole day through, while he could barely drag his worthless hide up the ladder.

After that performance, I let him know that his refusal to take reasonable precautions against heat sickness was a liability to my business, and that I couldn't allow him on my jobs anymore.

Hey! When someone like him posts something, you don't "decline to comment!" He's on the internet and he's got stuff to say!

When I was deployed to the sandbox, nobody wanted to get dehydrated. It was more pleasant having someone try to poke an IV into your shrunken vein than to drink the granulated crap they mixed with water to save your sorry butt.

Believe me, you; we did everything possible to stay hydrated.

Then you apparently did not see her interview with Meghan Kelly yesterday, or the day before when she said she did not see anyone currently declare that she could support.

Here is what she actually said:

Palin: I am still considering it, and I do want to help change the world for the better, again along with millions of other conscientious americans who know that america deserves better than what we are getting out of that political bubble in Washington DC.

Meghan: What would make you get in at this point?

Palin: Still listening to the debate and the discourse and the GOP lineup right now, and still looking for that candidate whom I can put my heart and soul behind to support, if I don't see that person here in short order I would be willing to put my name forward in the name of service, I'm impressed with the lineup

Meghan (interrupting): Have you not found him or her yet?

Palin: no, I'm impressed with the lineup, but there's still is quite a long process, there will be a lot of comings and goings with this lineup, I know that (because I've spoken with them), I know I'm not the only potential candidate on the sidelines waiting to see how things are going to unfold.

So, she did NOT say she was nobody currently declared that she could support. What she said was she hadn't decided if any of those currently running were the candidate she could support. She also said she was IMPRESSED with the lineup.

It is clear from her statement that she is waiting to see if someone who is currently running shows themselves to be a candidate she can support. Or, based on her last statement, someone who isn't in yet but who decides to get in.

If she had already decided that she couldn't support any of the current candidates, then she would have already decided to enter, by her own words.

Your have to twist what she said to make it sound like what you want to hear.

What i hear once again is that Palin has NOT decided to run, that she is still considering it based on a combination of whether one of the existing or possible candidates distinguishes themselves enough for her, and how it will impact her family.

That said, I agree with the specific point -- she certainly hasn't painted herself in the corner because she said nice things about Perry. Her statements about Perry I presume were truthful, and are excellent to debunk the claims by some here that Perry is a fraud, a phony conservative, or that his actions as Governor make him a RINO liberal evil candidate. Palin saw all of his record, and proclaimed him a geniune conservative.

But that was an endorsement for Governor; you could be a true conservative who will fight for conservative causes, as Palin said Perry was, and still not be right for the Presidency.

Who are you, and why are you pestering me? I already commented to the person whom I was originally addressing - and it wasn't you. I went overboard explaining things to you in my last post, and now you want more?

I'll say it again - I've fought these interminable battles with the anti-Palin crowd for two and a half years already. I, and the rest of her supporters are riding a high of great enthusiasm right now, and we'd rather be doing other things than continuing to cross swords with you guys at this moment.

Gadzooks....get over it already.

You really don’t want to defend your comments, do you. That’s OK, but I don’t know why you made them if you don’t think they are worth defending.

Anyway, the only thing you explained before was how you didn’t want to discuss what you said.

The best way to not have to discuss your own comments is to not make them. Then people won’t get confused that you actually want to talk about what you are talking about, and try to have a conversation with you.

For my, my pro-Palin happy time will be when she either announces she is running, or announces she is NOT running so we can move on. Until then, I’ll consider the candidate who have already announced.

Yes, I have heard this someplace before, but where?.

Not to some guy who I wasn't even talking to, to begin with, no. I already had my conversation with the poster to whom I originally directed my comments.

I'm afraid that'll just have to do. I'm perfectly capable of having this discussion with you, but I already told you that I'm NOT interested.

Have a good night.

I'm afraid that I am not worthy of my internet connection, for I do not know who he is. I will repent by cutting the cable to my house now.

Be good. Hope to see you when I've achieved cyber-worthiness.

No I don't.

So far, there is nobody she has come out in support of, period, and that includes Rick Perry.

Where can you get sea salt tablets? Do they have them in grocery stores? I go shooting sometimes in very hot weather, and heat stroke kind of sneaks up on me occasionally, even though I drink lots of water. I hate it when I have to miss a day of shooting because it’s too damned hot. I’d just LOVE it if I could find a “cure” — looks like you’ve got one! And are potassium tablets around, or will eating a banana or two do the trick?

It's a common misconception that simply staying hydrated is sufficient to stave off heat sickness. Fact is, when we sweat, our bodies lose minerals (along with water). Chief among these, are sodium and potassium. It's the loss of these essential minerals that brings on the symptoms of heat sickness.

Where can you get sea salt tablets?

I normally buy mine from Peter Gillham's Nutrition in Los Angeles, but they can be purchased from lots of nutritional suppliers.

Here's a link to a page of Google results:

Natural Sea Salt tablet suppliers
