Get ready, America. This upcoming July 4 is about more than simply celebrating our nations founding. Apparently, its also an opportunity for Atheists to set the record straight about their patriotism.
Thus, on Monday, people in 27 states will have the opportunity to look up in the sky and see airplanes flying banners that proudly say God-LESS America or Atheism is Patriotic. The campaign, being organized by the New Jersey-based American Atheists, is sure to stoke the fires of controversy.

XVI That religion, or the duty which we owe to our Creator and the manner of discharging it, can be directed by reason and conviction, not by force or violence; and therefore, all men are equally entitled to the free exercise of religion, according to the dictates of conscience; and that it is the mutual duty of all to practice Christian forbearance, love, and charity towards each other.
Note that little word "Christian" forbearance. Not "atheist autofellation" or "Randian neglect."
Cheers!
“Most blacks are liberal, too. Therefore, should I shun Herman Cain?”
It means you should check to see if he’s got that “I’m black, therefore I am a victim and it’s whitey’s fault” mentality. Every single black person I have known has had it. Every single last one. Since 95% of blacks voted for Obama, it seems prudent to double check any black candidate for racism. I sure as Hell won’t give anyone, black or otherwise, a pass simply because they have an ‘(R)’ next to their name.
If Herman Cain comes up clean, then more power to him. I like his background and his stated views.
That is how to act, not the source of rights. I have noticed quite a dearth of “Christian forbearance, love and charity” in this thread, especially with the expressed desire for the death of others for their beliefs.
Reminds me of a New York guy I know, who flies Ultralights as a hobby - upstate. He says he and his buddies do indeed get a bit nervous during the fall because it’s hunting season...as he told me, “Those guys down there ARE New Yorkers, after all....”
We must run in different circles. Or, I guess I just avoid that type. Two of my neighbors are black, neither has the victim mentality. I guess it helps that one is retired military and the other is a successful small business owner.
Since 95% of blacks voted for Obama
IIRC, about 50% of atheists voted for him, 20% McCain and the rest Libertarian and Green. Republicans tend to scare away atheist voters purely because of their hyping of religion, not other issues of conservatism and liberalism. Of course, 70% of Jews voted for Obama, so pigeonholing is kind of difficult.
Yeah, but *you* were acting as though Christianity were an irrelevance to the Founding Fathers. And cherry picked from that document to do it.
I have noticed quite a dearth of Christian forbearance, love and charity in this thread, especially with the expressed desire for the death of others for their beliefs.
Yeah, it's rough having a Prometheus complex.
It's even worse when you have to be your own vulture.
This is a conservative, Christian based website.
You might have noticed that one of the trademarks is people getting hit by lightning, or even subject to military attack (Viking kitties in helicopters, Ron Paul as a weasel being chased by a Viking Kitty in a tank).
I guess you're just not man enough to be on the receiving end; although you atheists sure can dish it out.
Which one is the enlightened, tolerant, noble atheist and which one the foaming at the mouth rabid Christianist?
Cheers!
No, I was countering the specific claim that they thought the "Creator" could be the only source of rights.
Which one is the enlightened, tolerant, noble atheist and which one the foaming at the mouth rabid Christianist?
Dunno, try it with these photos.
Fascinating. Rather than even admit that Bill Maher is (and should be) a source of embarrassment to atheists, you change the subject(s).
Cheers!
Placemark.
Lotta pinging tomorrow.
When did Bill Maher come into this? But, yes, he is an embarrassment.
Cheers!

Atheists are getting very aggressive. They're not satisfied with not believing in God, they want to drag as many people into the void of unbelief as possible. Remember when Communism used to be called "godless Communism"? It's still godless.
Anti-theist is a more accurate term for this type.
They’re pissing on us.
Not a good sign.
ah, but are they actually doing it? Are there pilots and companies that are taking money to do this? That’s what you need to check.
Boycotts work.
Looking back on my years as an Atheist I realize now that I was a very, very angry and unhappy person.
Praise God that He understood and had the patience with me because He knew that eventually I would stop being angry and get down on my knees and surrender to Him.
Their banner is shocking and horrible. May it have that effect on Americans.
No god ?
Bad god ?
Fake god ?
Silly god ?
Great God ..?
Hes still God.
Id like to thank the atheists for keeping God in the forefront of all our lives.
What you write reminds me of the concept behind these verses:
Phl 1:16 The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds:
Phl 1:17 But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel.
Phl 1:18 What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.
You are so right. When I did use to believe that God did not exist it wasn't something I felt merited pride about. I thought existance empty and meaningless. I actually wished that I could believe in the God fairytale so many others believed in but alas could not because I was married to the truth. Those that believed in the nonresistant God, I thought, at least had something to console them in this meaningless existence. It was only by The LORD's grace that He finally got hold of me and showed me that truth was and is married to Him.
