The mark of any successful political venture by Governor Palin often results a misrepresentation of her words that only leaves the media with egg on their faces. Governor Palins bus tour has been successful in allowing her to highlight the greatness of the history of America, meet everyday Americans and fellow politicians, and share her policy stances on everything from fishing regulations in New Hampshire to ethanol subsidies to the debt ceiling. Such successes leaves the media grasping at proverbial bendy straws. Todays news is no different. Poised with the opportunity to more appropriately address political stories essentially pre-written for them, such as abysmal jobs numbers under the Obama administration or the newest report that the federal government lends financial aid to the very same countries from whom they borrow , the media have chosen to focus more on their own historical ignorance by creating a story out of a non-story and misportraying Governor Palins comments on Paul Revere yesterday:

PING!
Bwahahahahahaha
Interesting. I had forgotten myself about the detail of Revere being taken by British troops.
As much as I like history, and as much as I think the following quote is VERY enlightening and educational, I really hope that Palin doesn’t visit Illinois, and bring up the following quote from their most famous President:
“I will say then that I am not, nor ever have been in favor of bringing about in anyway the social and political equality of the white and black races - that I am not nor ever have been in favor of making voters or jurors of negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor to intermarry with white people; and I will say in addition to this that there is a physical difference between the white and black races which I believe will forever forbid the two races living together on terms of social and political equality. And inasmuch as they cannot so live, while they do remain together there must be the position of superior and inferior, and I as much as any other man am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the white race. I say upon this occasion I do not perceive that because the white man is to have the superior position the negro should be denied everything.”
It just aired on NBC evening news. The talking head, can’t think of his name, said it wasn’t bells but lanterns. Geez, this is what makes headlines these days??
Here’s a likely answer to Msmlib ignorance on US history.
When my daughter was in High School a few years back she had a history final on the Rev war. She brought me the paper (got an 88). I read it and sat there wondering how you can do a paper on the revolutionary War, end it at PR’s ride and get a passing grade. My question “Where’s the actual war kid???” Her answer...”We were tested on what they taught us. That’s as far as they taught us Dad.”
She got schooled on the rest over the next few days. ;)
Sarah tried to tell the mediots more than their wittle bwains could handle.
They wanted the short version, and she gave them the full nelson.
Indeed, she runs rings around them and they are left looking
like the fools they are!
Meanwhile the moron we have in the White House doesn’t even know what year it is and no one says a damn thing
Man oh man I would hate to be announcing my candidacy this week and running against her. She simply sucks the air out of the country.
There should be more parents like yourself! :)
Thanks for teaching your daughter the “rest of the story”!!
You can try to put lipstick on this pig all you want, but the video clip of her is rambling, incoherent and looks terrible. There is no way to portray this as anything but a fairly minor gaff, recognize that she was probably tired and distracted and move on.
The more I watch of it, the less I like the way she’s handling this bus tour. It looks less and less like campaigning every day and more and more like self-promotion.
Until she starts seeing if she can draw crowds, an until she starts putting together organizations in Iowa and New Hampshire I’m going to remain deeply skeptical of her presidential ambitions. I think she knows she can’t win.
And they will run a correction, never.
So, you're concerned...?
Good grief! I gave up on THAT notion during the Reagan candidacy!
