One day soon we'll look back on April 27, 2011 as an important day. Right now liberals think we'll remember it as the day that Obama put the lie to the birthers, but they're wrong. I think we'll remember it as the day Obama's presidency died.
Right now, Obama and the left, along with their lapdogs in the MSM, think they've outsmarted the birthers, and that they've engaged in a brilliant game of political brinksmanship. They're thinking that the birthers have shown themselves to be the fruits and nuts of the right, and they made all this hubbub about what was, after all, nothing really. Just a document... like any other American birth certificate.
They're wrong. For two reasons...

What you are saying is true. However, human nature is true also. We remember the people who have insulted and/or hurt us and we tend to extrapolate.
For example, for years I only knew one person from a particular religious denomination. He was so extraordinarily mean, dishonest, arrogant and condescending that, like it or not, I developed a very bad image of that denomination.
About a year ago, I met a whole church-full of people from the same denomination. Turns out they are almost to a man and to a woman extremely kind and decent people. Needless to say, my opinion of their denomination has undergone a transformation.
Which is a longish way of saying that we are all a combination of intellectual and emotional beings. Our minds may tell us, ‘this is just one bad egg’. But if the experience is sufficiently negative, it’s all but impossible to keep it from tainting one’s more general outlook.
If that makes sense?
Most vets I know are headcases and child molesters. And I think I know Bruce Campbells Chin. In fact, I think he is only vet I know.
Lol. It’s true I don’t know many ex-Marines. Sometimes you know them, but don’t know you know them. A church I used to go to had, on one occasion, people stand up according to their branch of service. I was surprised at which men were Marines, and had never mentioned it.
I have only knowingly interacted with an ex-Marine on a close basis once before this. He was one of the most wonderful and amazing human beings I have ever met. [This all happened when I was a child, btw; he lived next door.]
I’ll never forget how I learned he was a Marine. My little friend and I—we were around ten—were practicing a baton routine while singing the Marine theme song. When we were ready for an audience, we performed for ‘Mugs’. We didn’t know why he cried (though he barely showed it—just a slight misting up).
Later my father explained he was an ex-Marine.
And I can guarantee you that the vast majority of Marine officers are not fans of the Presidett, but they do their duty, refuse to politicize their commissions, and they follow the orders of their superiors. They properly leave it for the courts and political system to sort this out rather than pulling a low-rent Beer Hall putsch.
You took offense at my salty reference, so I was having a bit of fun with your bizarre assertion that the phrase has a homosexual connotation. I've honestly never heard anyone associate "d-bag" with homosexuality. Sorry if I offended your sensibilities with some sarcasm.
Now please quit posting to me.
You have a sick way of having fun. Calling a fellow Freeper a homosexual headcase is *really* your idea of having fun? I guess you don’t operate by the Golden Rule. Unless you yourself, personally, enjoy being called homosexual and nuts. Or perhaps you’re not a Christian. If that’s the case, then it all makes sense. Trying to hurt people by lying about their sexuality and mental health is fine and dandy for people who have no concerns about ‘doing unto others as you would have others do unto you’.
Look, if you don’t want me to answer your posts, stop posting to me. It’s not that hard. YOU are the one that said you didn’t want to exchange any more. ‘We’ never agreed to it—i.e.: I never agreed to anything—that’s just another lie.
However, if you can let this go, and not ping me ANYMORE, then I will do the same.
If you keep pinging me, even after this, then you have no grounds for asking me to desist.
