De Niro is a great actor, but if you listen to him in unrehearsed interviews, he does not impress as a profound or articulate man.

I presume you're referring to DeNiro.

He told a classic actor's joke many years ago in a Playboy interview.

-----------------------------

Sam has always had showbiz in his very blood. From the time he was in kneepants he's wanted nothing more than to trod the boards to the loving approval of audiences everywhere.

There is one slight complication on the way to realizing his dream: He can't remember his lines to save his life!

So, in order to remain connected to his life's purpose, he takes a job behind the scenes, as an agent. Loving the theater as he does, and being good with people, he makes a good living at it for quite a few years.

But the old acting bug will never quite die.

One day he gets a call from a casting director named Hyman.

"Schmueley, old boy, have I got a deal for you! They're opening a new play in a month, and there's a walk-on part that I think you'll love! Now, don't worry about the lines; all you gotta do is walk on stage and here's all you have to say: 'Hark! I hear the distant thunder of approaching cannon.' And that's it! Whaddaya say, old pal?"

"Hymie, I dunno. I used to screw up so bad, and get so flustered and embarrassed on stage, I'm not sure I can do it."

"Well, think about it, will ya? We don't really need an answer for a few days."

Sam thinks about it for a while, and his old dream rekindles. He takes the part.

He starts attending rehearsals a week before the opening. He knows most everybody in the cast and crew, and they all receive him with open arms. He rehearses time and again, flawlessly.

He stands behind the door to the stage. He opens it on cue and steps through. The sound man says "boom!" He delivers his magic line: 'Hark! I hear the distant thunder of approaching cannon.'

Perfect every time! Now Sam's got his confidence up, and he feels like a million bucks.

Finally, opening night arrives. The play begins. Now it's the second act, and he gets his cue.

He opens the door, steps on stage, and the soundman fires a real cannon--

BOOOOMMMM!

Sam jerks around and shouts--

WHAT THE **** WAS THAT!?!?

Uh, not yet until he smashes little John, a senator who can snarl back. Dinero, what power does he have.

I assume you’re talking about John McCain. McCain’s stature is much deminished since his beatdown at the hands of Zero.
I and I believe many Freepers here would not defend Juan if Trump decided to rip him a new one over the issues.
