The lone Republican in the Hawaii State Senate told a radio interviewer today he believes "the real issue" stopping Barack Obama from releasing his long-form birth certificate is something the president has to hide, perhaps even the name of his actual birth father.
Hawaii State Sen. Sam Slom further told the host of "Aaron Klein Investigative Radio" on WABC 770 AM in New York City that so long as Obama refuses to be transparent about his past, questions about the president's birth remain "a legitimate issue."
"My particular point of view and why I haven't identified myself as a 'birther,' per se is that [Obama] probably was born [in Hawaii] and that the real issue is not the birth certificate, but what's on the birth certificate," Slom told Klein.
Asked what that could be, Slom said, "It could have to do with what his name is on the birth certificate, who is actually listed as his father, the citizenship of the father."
He continued, "My belief is that there is a birth certificate, he was born here, but that there is information that for reasons known only to him he doesn't want released. If it were just the birth certificate, that would be one thing, but it's his school records, it's employment records.
Why would anybody, let alone the president of the United States, spend millions of dollars in legal fees to keep that hidden?"

We used the II designation for my son because my father-in-law was still junior at seventy years old and took a lot of flack about it.
You are seeing what we in the field have to deal with regarding the HIPAA law. You obviously have not bothered either to read, or perhaps to understand, what I’ve posted about HIPAA, or to follow my links about HIPAA, so go talk to someone who knows the HIPAA law, and maybe it will help you understand.
Or just stay ignorant, if you prefer.
I don’t think YOU understand HIPAA as much as you think you do.
You stay classy, sl.
You obviously did not read the article. This “dummy” mentions all that.
RE: “Junior” vs “II”, you’re both right on target.
For those in the dark:
The era of this terminology usage is apparently past, as it seems to be foreign and confusing to many people. In 1961, however, usage was common, giving great importance to the fact of the terminology’s application to Barack Hussein Obama’s name.
In western societal tradition, when an infant is given its’ father’s name, the infant is “John Doe, Junior”, and the father thus becomes “John Doe, Senior”.
The term “junior” informs the world that the infant has been named “AFTER” his father. It ‘advertises’ the DIRECT father-to-son continuation of the blood line.
If, however, the newborn son is given the name of an other family member, such as his grandfather, Jim Doe, he is designated “Jim Doe, the Second”, abbreviated as “II”. He has been named “FOR” his grandfather. It is paying homage to the grandfather. That designation of “II” tells the world that the infant has been named IN HONOR of SOMEONE OTHER THAN HIS FATHER.
To people of a certain age, as a generalization, the “II” designation indicates Barack Hussein Obama was not the father of the Won.
Something else which may or may not have a bearing on this subject:
Does anyone know if it’s true that Islam does not permit a Muslim man to name his son after himself? I’ve heard this is the case; if so, that alone could explain the “II” rather than a “Junior” designation.
Thanks Dubya-M-DeesWent2SyriaStupid! and justiceseeker93!
I thought the father’s name was spelled “Barrack.” Zero’s is Barack with one R.
However, just read a couple of letters and Sr. spelled his name Barack as well.
Had anyone else seen the two R spelling?
At the very least, it’s rather ironic that his mom had a man’s name and he married a woman that could mop the floor with him....

According to a poll just released today, President Obama’s approval rating is at an all-time low. He’s so unpopular right now, the people in Kenya are accusing him of being born in the United States .” — Jay Leno
Following Sean
2006 NR 87 minutes
In 1969, director Ralph Arlyck filmed an intimate conversation with 4-year-old Sean Farrell -- the son of free-spirited parents living in San Francisco's Haight-Ashbury district -- who talked openly about smoking pot and living with drug addicts. Thirty years later, Arlyck returns to San Francisco to find out what became of Sean and his family -- and in the process, reflects on his own strange journey that cuts across generations and cultures.
Nope. Have no idea who he is or what his story is or what he has to do with barry. Is he barry’s daddy?
Yep! When all else fails there is always Jergens Natural Glow.
Uh huh. Self-tanning lotion or lots of golf? Enquiring minds want to know.
I have that one, too. Thanks for posting.
No, but he’s a “black” Congressman (and a high-ranking officer of the Congressional Black Caucus). So, yes, it’s possible for someone to be quite a bit lighter-skinned than Obama and still be considered “black.”
