WORLD EDITOR DISPLAYS HIS IGNORANCE OF CHRISTIANITY -
According to Time Magazine editor Bobby Ghosh, burning the Koran is much more inflammatory than burning a Bible because the Koran comes directly from God and the Bible doesnt.
Appearing on MSNBCs Hardball, (where else?) Ghosh continued to display his ignorance of Christianity:
The Bible is a book written by men. It is acknowledged by Christians that it is written by men. Its the story of Jesus.
If youre a Muslim, the Koran is directly the word of God, not written by man. It is transcribed, it is directly the word of God. (Transcribed by whom, Mr. Ghosh?)
That makes it sacred in a way thats hard to understand if youre not Muslim. So the act of burning a Koran is much more potentially much, much more inflammatory than if you were to burn a Bible. You are directly attacking God.
So did the Rat miss something as a young lad in Sunday School? He was led to believe that the Bible was the Word of God. Come to think of it, hes still being led to believe that the Bible is the Word of God.
Is Times world editor that ignorant of Christianity, or is he something worse? Many of the left-wing loons who preach tolerance and understanding of all things Islam arent quite so tolerant and understanding of anything Christian. Public schools are prohibited from allowing silent prayer, while many of them offer Muslim courses to promote acceptance and amity of Islam.
Does this means that Ghosh believes the savage murder of innocent people in response to the burning of a Koran is a normal reaction by Muslims? I hope not. Does he believe that the superiority of the Koran in respect to the Word of God, might just give Muslims a tad bit more justification in their brutal acts of retribution than would be the case for Christians? It sure sounds like it.
While pastor Terry Jones certainly has the right to burn whatever he wishes to burn including the Bible, and the American flag for that matter hes guilty of confusing the right to give followers of the peaceful religion an excuse to murder innocents with the RESPONSIBILITY not to do so. Terry Jones has blood on his hands as well.
The Rat wonders how Pakistan could condemn the intolerance of the pastor on one hand while sentencing a Christian woman to death on the other. Rat will have to look that up in the Koran.
Well crud. I had no idea.
Can we get a full list? You know, like four of a kind beats a full house. I need a comprehensive list of what books are more ok or less ok to burn.
Thanks!
(Their mouths move and words come out, but I'm pretty sure they are broken or something.)
If the Koran is written by God himself I’d say he has some smiting to catch up on.
“Allowing Islam into America is akin to injecting yourself with AIDS to prove how tolerant you are of queers.” So very pathetically true.
There sir, you hit the nail squarely on the head and drove it through the timber in one hit.
As Ann so clearly pointed out, our kids over there are in infinately more danger from the ROE than they will ever be from an act of free speech within on our shores.
Of Course,Christians wont come and Cut your Head off.
2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;
Yes, the about 40 men who wrote the Bible wrote under the "inspiration" of the Holy Spirit sent by God! That is why the Bible does NOT contradict itself over hundreds of years of compilation. However, the Koran, written by 3-4 or more people not only has contradictions and outright falsehoods, but calls for its enemies to be murdered. The Bible does NOT call for those burning a Bible to be murdered. That is one HUGE difference between the two texts. We are told to forgive our enemies. The Muslim is told to kill his/hers.
Therefore, when an idiot over here who wants to provoke Muslims to wrath (for whatever reason) burns a Koran, the Muslims riot and kill innocent people who had nothing to do with the burning of the Koran (genius religion, isn't it?). When they burn a Bible, we certainly don't go kill someone down the street. Which makes more sense to you? If you can't get that, you are beyond reason.
You bet me to it. Didn’t read all of the comments before posting.
The koran is evil and more likely comes from Satan then anywhere else.
This evil must be stood against if civilization is to survive
Excellent post. I posted in haste upon reading the headline. And, the word “INSPIRED” in the Greek literally means “breathed” = in context, “God-breathed”.
Obama — well, the “christian” portion of him at least — should be offended by the editor’s remarks. I predict he will vote “present” on this matter.
Such bullshit.
The mooselimbs claim that their book is more sacred than the Bible and therefore Christians maybe murdered because the muzzies feelings are hurt.
I'm offended that mooselimbs are on the earth and the solution is my tag line.
Since it's not possible to separate the "good from the bad" mooselimbs, nuke'em all and let allah sort them out.
Er...thanks?
By comparison, in most Muslim-dominated countries, you could expect to be hounded, chased, beaten, lashed, and probably killed for your lack of belief in Islam. And not by a few isolated nuts -- no, it would be by the majority of people, and they would have the support of the law.
I agree, which is why I very much prefer living in a Christian-dominated country to a Muslim one. I don't have to believe in (what I regard as) the mythology inherent in Christianity or Islam to recognize the difference in how its adherents treat non-believers such as myself.
Mind you, this would have been different a few centuries ago. The Church used to kill heretics...but that was then, and this is now.
I’m sooooooooo happy I subscribe to Time - now I can call and cancel - and tell them exactly why...
