On Tuesday, April 5, voters in Wisconsin will go to the polls and cast ballots for the Wisconsin Supreme Court. The race pits incumbent Justice David Prosser against Assistant Attorney General JoAnne Kloppenburg.
The race is important for one major reason - it will determine whether or not the rule of law will prevail in Wisconsin, or if the state will be effectively run by union bosses.
Unions and other left-wing interest groups have spent millions in ads smearing Prosser over a sex abuse case he handled over 30 years ago. The victim of the case has demanded Kloppenberg and her allies pull the ad, but they have refused.
According to the National Review Online:
Prosser noted that Troy Merryfield, one of the abuse victims, has spoken out against the clip, and in support of Prossers decision to not prosecute at the time.
I do not appreciate myself or my case being used for political advantage, especially in todays climate of dirty politics, Merryfield wrote in a recent statement. In 1979, as a prosecutor, Prosser made a decision to not file charges against [Rev. John] Feeney due to his concern about the emotional toll that a jury trial would have on my brother and me due to our young age at the time. Prosser, he added, had his full support.
Regardless, the hit left a mark. Two sources with knowledge of internal GOP polling tell us that Prosser and Kloppenburg are near even, a bad sign for the incumbent. She has driven his negatives up, one source says.

If you live in Wisconsin it is important that you, your friends and your family get to the polls on Tuesday and vote for Justice Prosser. If you live outside of Wisconsin and have friends and family in Wisconsin you need to call them and encourage them to vote for Justice Prosser. Don’t just think about it - do it!
Bump
Kloppenberg is a government attorney (DNR)and has no experience as a judge. I don’t believe that she will follow the law.
Prosser is a well respected incumbent supreme court justice that follows the law. Former Gov Pat Lucey (D) was an honorary chair of his reelction committee.
This is Job #1 in WI now and has been for the past several weeks. Give Gov. Walker and the Republicans credit for knowing when to hold back and when to pick a fight. The unions and libs have been focusing everything on this supreme court election because they know that this their key to being able to un-do everything that’s been done. The Republicans have wisely avoided doing anything rash vs. the idiot Dane County judge that might impact next weeks election negatively.
Wis. Senate leader: No cop would arrest Dems
They had a big rally there with the usual combination of union thugs, left over hippies, antediluvian corpulent lesbian couples, overpaid state workers and "progressive" students.
A bunch of students had dressed up as zombies and had signs like 'Not all Zombies watch Faux News" and "If Walker had any brains I'd eat them" and the usual drivel.
I'd never seen such concentrated stupidity en masse up close before.
Cheers!
If "rule of law" and "obligations of contract" are enforced in states, then 1/2 the work of trial lawyers and 1/2 the things that labor unions want are gone. If you cannot back out of clear contracts and judges cannot duck their oath to apply clearly written statutes, then there much of the lawsuit casino is closed down.
