Yes, your eyes are not deceiving you. Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has called upon Hollywood Actor George Clooney to be among his defense witnesses for when he goes on trial.

That question is in all ways irrelevant. Italy, together with many other nations has enacted laws and entered into international treaties aimed at ending the sex tourism business aimed at under-aged slaves and prostitutes.

Whether she credibly represented herself as older or not is relevant. The location is not.

And the same is true for an American overseas - we have similar laws now and are members to the same treaties.

If a westerner is so obsessed with sex with teens, they can always immigrate to a third world hell hole and give up their citizenship in the civilized nation they came from.

There is no "Hall Pass" to be outside the laws of your own country when you travel. To leave those restrictions, one has to give up their citizenship.
