Iran Calls Bahrain Action "Unjustifiable and Irreparable" (Mideast Going from Bad to Worse)
ZeroHedge ^

Posted on 03/16/2011 5:47:01 AM PDT by quesney

The situation in Bahrain is going from bad to dire.

Earlier, thousands of protesters marched to the Saudi embassy in the Bahraini capital, angry at the intervention of Gulf Arab forces.

1000 Saudi troops had rolled into the country at the request of Bahrain's Sunni rulers. As Reuters reports, and as Zero Hedge discussed extensively before, the troop movement could signify Saudi concern that any concessions in Bahrain might inspire the Kingdom's own Shi'ite minority.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Bahrain King declared martial law as his government struggled to stop the protests. The three month state of emergency hands power over to Bahrain's security forces, which is dominated by the Sunni Muslim elite. Injured were taken to hospital as violence continued in the small Gulf island. "We came out of the tunnel and they started shooting at us and I got injured here, in the back." An opposition politician said one man was killed and several wounded in clashes with police in the Shi'ite area of Sitra.

But the biggest news, that which caused crude to just jump by a dollar, is that the Iran President has called the actions by the Bahrain government "unjustifiable and irreparable."

And if or rather when Iran gets involved on the basis of a religious escalation, watch out for global stagflation.

He and many on the left would rather the world explode than the U.S. be seen as a superpower or leader.

Looks that way.

After all, it was openly expressed by some during the Clinton era but at the time viewed as radical and extreme. We shouldn't be surprised Obama's taking that path.

The damned Saudis have a lot of nerve! Don’t they know it’s March Madness and the Pretender in Chief is busy??? Geez Louise...how can anyone expect 1 man to be able to host dinner partys, travel to South America, fill out his brackets, squeeze in a couple of rounds of golf AND get any sleep when Japan and the Middle East keep sending up all these distractions??? Good grief, he’s only 1 man!

I’m not entirely convinced that Islam is his ultimate agenda.
I believe it’s more of The Ones and the left’s utopian one world-peace-love and hope vision thingy.

They believe man is ultimately good and pure therefore, do nothing and man will save the day.

I, and I believe most on the right understand inherent sin.

The problems will cease when Iran is wrested from the Mullahs. That will require war.

The coalition of the gulf Arabs and Israel will be at war with Iran. Egypt will likely join the coalition to end the Iranian problem and sort out the problems with Israel later.

Barry resembles a man in age and appearance, can sound like a man — albeit a girly-man — but is he a Man? Nope. A Man-child yes, but a Man not so much.

Please tell me you think our government could extradite you and military familes when this place goes bad. Surely Obambi has a plan.

Time to leave, call your commanding officer and remind him America and American should come first!

“Keep Obama on the golf course.”

Especially after November 2012

I'm hoping at that point it will be Leavenworth Penitentiary.

He barely gave the Iranian protesters any support.

Yet he yanked the rug out from under Mubarak, despite the misgivings of our allies.

The Saudis have told the USA to stuff it, they are going to help their brother Bahrainis, this is an existential struggle for them.

You well know I’m no fan of the Sauds, but this time they have shown resolve and determination having understood that this time, the USA does not have their back, and they have to act on their own while Obama and Hillary’s and even Gates prattling about democracy when the fate of the US fleet is at stake, a secondary concern to King Abdullah, since his kingdom is on the line.

The Saudis are flabbergasted, angry and disgusted that this President cannot even see when US strategic interests are at stake.

If Bahrain falls, where does the US fleet go?

I agree. The Saudis are nutcases, but they’re nowhere near as nutty as the people who want to replace them. Whenever I’m in Spain, the Costa del Sol is full of Saudi royals and their big parties (one of which was attended by the wife of the Big Eared Evil One), massive use of prostitutes of both sexes, fantastic spending on premium liquors...well, you get the idea.

The Saudis have a good thing going and they want to keep it that way. Right now they have to do lip service to the US and lip service to Islamists, but they know which side their bread is buttered on, and they know that Ahmadinejad wants their job.

Well, maybe I should say which side their bread “used to be” buttered on, because it doesn’t look to me that Bambi wants to support anyone who was even moderately and of necessity pro-American.

What will Taiwan do.

If we didn’t stand by Mubarak.........

China smiles that enigmatic oriental inscrutable smile.

Yes, Bambi is dumping all the old alliances with people who, while they may not have been great guys, were fairly supportive of the US. No, actually, he’s busy picking out his basketball faves...
