Conservative Columnist George Will:

"I would vote for a syphilitic camel over Barack Obama in 2012, so therefore I would even vote for Huckabee or Gingrich.

But I might try to talk the camel into running one more time..."

Ouch!- doesn't say much for those two, does it. But at the same time I was just yesterday thinking along those very same lines... anybody but Obama:

Well, I’d vote for a syphillitic camel before I’d vote for Huckabee, Gingrich, or Romney.

But I think that people are so sick of choosing the lesser of two evils, as foisted on them by the RINO establishment, that they may just decide to throw the GOP in the trash bin of history, and vote for a new second party candidate instead.

Sarah Palin has said that she hopes the Republicans show some sense next time. Because the old game is now over. Either they show some sense, or we need to vote, not for some third party spoiler, but for a SECOND PARTY candidate.

That’s not easy to do. It only happens once every 150 years or so. But the GOP threw the Whigs in the garbage 150 years ago, and now I think it’s there turn.

Shape up or ship out.

You need a true leader to bring off such a transformation. I think Sarah has what it takes. She has indicated that she won’t do it if she doesn’t have to. But if the Karl Roves of the RINO Establishment, or the Corrupt Bastards Club, try to pull the same trick for the 75th time, then it’s time to throw them into the garbage.

Because our country’s time is up. We’ve reached the end of the line. No more of this lesser evil ploy. It won’t work.

The Republican Party knows this, too.

I can foresee that they will run a RINO insider bastard like Romney, Huckabee or even McCain. Subsequently a large number of Tea Party conservatives split for another candidate, leaving Obama in the clear majority and in control until 2016.

The next election, and the fate of the United States, will be decided in the primaries.

The TEA Party needs to find the right candidate, unite around him, and PUSH HIM (or her!) HARD on the establishment.

If we aren’t pro active in this way, the inside the Beltway GOP will surely try to foist a RINO on us

Look how the pushed Scozzafava right to the end

Last time I heard voters voting in the Republican primary choose the candidate for POTUS.

So, if the candidate is the one being pushed by the "RINO establishment," whose fault is it? We, not "they."

BTW, it starts at the precinct level--sending delegates to the various conventions so people who don't like the "establishment" have nobody to blame if they haven't participated at the local level.

The problem starts with the order of primary elections. The GOP POTUS candidate is often chosen by states who don't vote Republican in the general election. McCain had been chosen before Texas voted last time...and I doubt he would have carried Texas. We are one of the reddest states and our votes didn't count...but NH's did.

A lot of FReepers are active at the local level. Those who have never been to a precinct meeting shouldn't complain!

I will NEVER vote for Gingrich. I can imagine that people will call me out and say that I will basically be voting for Obama. I am sick of that big time but whatever. If the Republican party wants to put up a guy who has been married 3 times and call itself the party of family values than forget it. That would be a serious joke and I won’t be laughing. He will NEVER get my vote. Just in case people didn’t take me serious the first time. Blast away. Could care less.

Obama's not slowly killing the nation, he's doing it quickly, and that's the silver lining in the dark clouds over our nation.

RINOs slowly kill our nation. Bush and a RINO Congress were killing us with his government expansions. McCain would have continued slow poisoning, as would Romney, Gingrich, Giuliani, et al.

If nothing else, the Obammunist has awakened us from our RINO-induced coma.

Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!

The problem starts with the order of primary elections.

And who decides that? The RNC and the party insiders.

Sure, the matter is complicated. But the problems at the national level are not that different from the problems at the state and local levels. Mike Castle was the preferred candidate of Karl Rove AND the Delaware Republican insiders.

We need to fix this at ever level. But we don't have time to do it before 2012. Too late. So we have to do as much as we can. And if it can't be fixed--then time for a new second party. NOT a third party.

Have you ever been to a precinct, county or state convention? The "party insiders" have to start there, too...at least in Texas. I don't know how others do it.

If you don't have the numbers to control the vote within a party, how do you think division would make things better? It has never worked because it doesn't make sense.

Remember Ross Perot? He only ran because GHWB had refused to work for him. RP was a vindictive little bastard and gave us Bill & Hill Clinton. The mood of the country at the time was the best time for a third party candidate. If it didn't work then, it sure wouldn't work now--with SEIU and ACORN and the MSM.

There are too many people with their hands out these days!

I think people overestimate Obama’s chances of reelection, but if we do lose in 2012, I hope we lose while nominating someone who actually reflects our principles. Even if the person is “unelectable,” at least we would stand for something. And I have a feeling that the only way we CAN lose is if we DON’T stand up for our principles.
