So, if the candidate is the one being pushed by the "RINO establishment," whose fault is it? We, not "they."
BTW, it starts at the precinct level--sending delegates to the various conventions so people who don't like the "establishment" have nobody to blame if they haven't participated at the local level.
The problem starts with the order of primary elections. The GOP POTUS candidate is often chosen by states who don't vote Republican in the general election. McCain had been chosen before Texas voted last time...and I doubt he would have carried Texas. We are one of the reddest states and our votes didn't count...but NH's did.
A lot of FReepers are active at the local level. Those who have never been to a precinct meeting shouldn't complain!
And who decides that? The RNC and the party insiders.
Sure, the matter is complicated. But the problems at the national level are not that different from the problems at the state and local levels. Mike Castle was the preferred candidate of Karl Rove AND the Delaware Republican insiders.
We need to fix this at ever level. But we don't have time to do it before 2012. Too late. So we have to do as much as we can. And if it can't be fixed--then time for a new second party. NOT a third party.
