I can’t even count how many times FR has been taken down!Free Republic has been VERY stable recently. I'm very impressed with its performance. Jim and John have done a great job getting things fixed up.

Not likely they've been "taken down" or "hacked". Our side just doesn't care enough, or find them important enough, to waste time in such an effort -- illegalities aside. More likely, the management of the site equipment is lead by, or outsourced to, incompetent individuals. Someone pulled the wrong cable and can't figure out how to put it back in.
