Palin is Running, and She’ll Get Creamed
The Constitution Club ^ | 02-12-11 | Dave the Sage

It does appear that former governor and GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah “you betcha” Palin will be throwing her beauty pageant sash into the presidential ring. She has added veteran Republican strategist Michael Glassner to serve as chief-of-staff for her political action committee, Sarah PAC, and steer her political operation. For the political insiders this is the strongest indication yet that Sarah Palin is seriously laying the groundwork for a serious bid for the white house. Unfortunately, she is probably the most disastrous of the current crop of possible GOP hopefuls and in my humble opinion would stand absolutely no chance in the general election. I will even venture to say that I don’t think she’ll make it out of the primaries. She is mistaking the general support the Right gives her as a person of character and cheerleader Tea Party as political support for a presidential bid. I submit to you the two are not the same and she will find this out the hard way. And if by some miracle she were to get the nod to lead the Republican party into the next general election we will witness a most embarrassing of electoral trouncings since Mondale got crushed by Reagan.

I defend Palin vigorously from the hatred and smears from the Left and admire her commitment to what is right and true. For the most part I share her politics, values, and ideology. And I think she makes a great fundraiser and cheerleader for the Right in general and the Tea Party in particular. But she had her chance for glory and success on the national stage and frankly blew it.

I can’t wait until President Palin calls Mclame to the Oval Office. Later, he leaves with tears streaming down his face. Seems she tells him to stop making overtures to the Rats and he had better toe the line or she will do something about it.

The Good Ol’ Boys club in the Senate will go the way of the Alaska GOB club when she was governor.

I can dream...

I like palin. If she decides to run the other pubbies in the field are also rans. Palin clinches the pubbie nomination easily.

How she does in the general—I don’t know. But she says she can beat Obama. She is not posessed by fear in the way the other pubbies are. So she has the right stuff.

I believe her more than any other pubbie making the same claim.

Most of these jokers know only what they have read about Reagan and they don’t even know that well, as there are many very good and accurate books on Reagan.

They are roughly as ignorant as the dear leader who doesn’t even know who the Gipper was or what he actually said.

No one is going to convince you, and I am not even trying. You have convinced yourself, and you have recourse to Democrat sponsored PPP push polls, on the one hand, while you reverence Reagan on the other. We can only hope that when your head stops spinning, it is to the front.

LOL...word.

It's always interesting to read the "molded" views of Reagan around here. As for PPP or any of these polls this far out from an election, anyone who believes them is a fool. There is no way to grade their accuracy and they use entirely different models than they do in the couple of weeks leading up to an election where they ARE graded. They should all be labeled "for entertainment purposes only."

I didn't believe the polls showing Reagan losing to Carter by 25-35 points in early 1980 and I wouldn't have believed the 1979 California poll showing Reagan losing to Ted Kennedy by 29 points in his own state if I had known about it before reading Shirley's book.

I actually got interested in PPP's monthly polling for about 5 months in 2009 when their internals showed a polling model that made sense. When their post-resignation poll of Palin showed a significant bump UP (as did Rasmussen's), their next poll switched to a model that had 55% of respondents with a college or post-grad education! That was the end of PPP as a reasonable indicator as far as I was concerned. Now, they're a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Daily KOS and Markos Moulitsas so they're quoted around here as some sort of gold standard by the PDS crowd...LOL.

You've got more patience than I do, BC, but thanks for pinging me on your posts. I always enjoy reading your work.

Exactly, the first female President, in the form of Sarah Palin, will follow the first black President, Brock Obama. A one-term President followed by a two-term President......

What a loser/liar this guy is! He starts out by saying ........”Palin will be throwing her beauty pageant sash into the presidential ring” then he goes on to say that he admires and respects her..

PALIN/WEST 2012 THIS IS A WINNER, PLEASE PASS IT ALONG. West is a AWESOME guy and would get just enough black vote to secure victory. And wouldn`t he upset Obama

Romney. Blech. Huck. Better off hosting a TV show. Newt? Part of the old RINO crowd sitting on the globull warming couch with Nasty Pelosi. I’d sooner stick toothpicks in my eyes than vote for a RINO. The voting booth should have gone up in flames when I voted for McCain. Having Sarah on the ticket made it tolerable.

They’re so jealous of her, all of them, the dems, RINOs, media, fake conservative posers. She’s the one and only rock star of politics and they hate it. Everywhere she goes, huge crowds, ever since that first speech when McCain named her VP runningmate. She can’t be stopped.

I have to laugh at all those who say she’s unelectable, can’t win, etc. They said that about Reagan too. Just an actor. Just a communicator, etc. The parallels with her and Reagan can’t be missed. The parallels between Carter and Hussein can’t either. Another 2 years of the ObamaDepression, 5 dollar gas, high misery index. Sarah will do as Rush said that Sarah will do to Hussein in a debate, “she’ll wipe the floor with him.” Landslide victory for America. Hussein can go retire in a 3rd world dictatorship, maybe stay with cousin Odinga. See his brother George in the hut.

You’re so right, no one will debate her face to face now, they just do the drive by hit piece and get out of Dodge. They are cowards just like you said. She is not, she’s taken more abuse than anyone and gets stronger every time. Sounds like a great quality in a leader to me.

BTW I was 3 years old on Reagan’s first inauguration. However, I was old enough to remember his second election and inauguration and my little 7 year old mind just knew he was a good man.

It’s ALWAYS the same lies by the left about the right. Some things never change. Including the naivete and stupidity of ignorant liberals.

However, that being said, none of it makes Palin more electable.

Loved your post.

There is one other thought about a Palin run.

If she runs, don’t you believe that regardless of the outcome of primaries, her running will encourage even more qualified credible Tea-Party minded candidates for office to run as well?

Just as she worked hard to help elect these new 87 GOP congressmen, it is my belief, that she runs, the establishment will not only have to keep taking her on, but another crop of great Tea Party candidates, as well.

Why is it “insulting her” to simply point out that she won’t make a good candidate?

I think Ted Nugent is a hell of a guy, and would make a great president too. However, he, too, would never win.

If she does run I can’t wait for all the glowing praise and backing by the RINO-in-chief Juan McAmnesty and his (not so) little RINOette offspring.

The only reason McCain is still in office is the “Open Primary” GOP rules in Arizona. Otherwise, he would no be in office now.

Thanks, Al. I love to get your insights, especially on Reagan. I studied him closely for decades but you always seem to have some fresh perspectives and info on him that I did not know. And even as to the things I know, It is helpful to have a dialogue with someone who actually lived through the Reagan revolution and doesn’t have to get his information from a HBO special.

These self anointed “experts” on Reagan crack me up. they devalue the true greatness of the man, with their platitudes and revisionist talking points. As far as I am concerned, the only genuine expert on Reagan, at least on this site, is you, Al.

Thanks for the little nugget on PPP and Palin. I did not realize that. It explains a lot. What a bunch of frauds. We are not going to be fooled. She is going to be the nominee. They can’t do anything to stop her. If she is the nominee against this goofy Marxist, she is going to clobber him among the white vote by 1984 style dimensions and the same idiots, who are now trashing her, will be talking about how Palin has evolved and become a titan.

Hypocrites all. We will remind them of their hypocrisy at the appropriate time. (I’m thinking sometime between November 4, 2012 and January 20, 2013)

Having Sarah on the ticket was the only reason I and several more individuals I know voted. We were prepared to sit it out.

My prediction:

If Palin doesn’t run McCain won’t endorse anyone.

If Palin does run McCain will endorse Romney.
