Ancient sea scorpions included the largest and arguably most frightening bug-like creatures known to have lived on Earth, but despite their fearsome claws, these giants might actually have been creampuffs, scientists think.

I was told they probably ambushed their prey from shallow water. They’d fill the niche of crocodilians.

I’d be very disappointed if they just crept around in the water, mucking about with detritus and fish leavings and carrion. Makes more sense, but not exciting at all.
