Just for fun, how about we stump each other with exotic or unusual airplane photos. Upload to Tinypic so no one can cheat by looking at the image source.
I'll go first. What is this aircraft?

One of the highlights of my early AF life, was an Eglin firepower demonstration. Can’t remember the year, but I suspect it was while I was stationed at Hurlbert, prior to assignment in Thailand during the “crazy asian war”, that would be 1968 ish. The B-52 strike and the machine gun demo from WW1 to 20mm gatling gun were truly impressive.

Yes, it is the scene when they convince Matt “Guitar” Murphy to rejoin the band. One of may great scenes. Do you have the director’s cut DVD? There are some interesting scenes that were cut from the theatre release.

Granville Brothers (the GB) R1. Killed a lot of pilots, Jimmy Dolittle managed to keep it in the air and win the 1932 Thompson Trophy.
The original had even less vertical stabilizer.

Yes, they were not easy to control...even for experienced pilots.

"That one is the Tripod Excerpted Photo 59." Indeed it is. The real question, however, is "would you hit it?"

That plane and it's pilot had an unfortunate accident.

It flew OK, but it was back to the drawing board for an air superiority fighter.

That’s a beautiful plane. I don’t think it’s a Supermarine. A Macchi type 52, I think...

Not an S6. Look at the ventral vertical stabilizer. The cockpit is different, too. This is a Macchi, probably a Type 52.
