Critics on Both Sides Be Damned: Run, Sarah
Pajamas Media ^ | November 26, 2010 | Pam Meister

Love her or hate her, Sarah Palin has, within the past couple of years, become an American institution. All the former Alaskan governor has to do is post something on Facebook or give a “shout-out” on Twitter and both pundits and everyday Americans on both sides of the aisle are either singing her praises or talking about what a dumb hick she is who has no business breathing, let alone commenting on the news of the day.

The big question, of course, is whether Palin should run for president in 2012. Here are just a few reasons why a Palin run makes sense:

Also be wary of surveys of "party insiders".

At about the same time (April, 1979) that U.S. News 'Washington Whispers' report came out, a survey of GOP insiders had both Reagan and Bush tied for a distant third in preference by 'insiders' for the 1980 nomination -- to both John Connally and Howard Baker.

That was why US News in the link you posted said Reagan was "fading" and the Carter WH was sad about it. Connally subsequently spent a huge amount of money (for the time -- $11 million) in his campaign and got exactly one (1 delegate to the 1980 convention. LOL.

Once we have declared candidates and they start going at one another, everything changes. That's why Team Rove/Romney/Gillespie et al want to stop Palin NOW.

Well, since you are somehow personaly offended about a benign comment I made about palin, I will say this to back up what I said. Harcore liberals, soft liberals, and RINO’s won’t vote for her, so that leaves true conservatives. The best guestimate is that there are 40% of all voting aged people to be conservative, so where do you plan on getting all these winning votes for palin? It ain’t happening and being offended by it and being snarky does not change the facts. No fortune telling needed.

As far as I’m concerned She has been close to perfect, since She resigned as Governor.

It’s been a great two years of watching how much She has grown, and the way she fights.
Most of the time, they never see it coming. She is so far out of the box, that everyone keeps all getting wee weed up, with every move She makes.

In my heart, I know that she wants to do what’s best America.

I hope She runs……

You seem to be confusing Palin with Mitt Romney.

Romney is a non-starter, so he won't make a good boogie man for Palin supporters. I guess you think RINOs are going to vote for Palin. Ain't happening.

Perhaps as VP or a top cabinet appointment.

Perhaps! Or head of the RNC? She seems to be such an "in you face" type of person, I'm not sure a more diplomatic position would suit her personality.

P.S. You have something wrong with you mentally if you take quazi anti-palin comments personaly. Only liberals take this chit personaly so lighten up Francis. It ain’t worth it to invest your happiness on other people’s actions.

Why would you list all those pesky facts? Facts don’t matter to people with stardust in their eyes.

Then why are the RINO’s freaking out? If she can’t win 30% of the vote she won’t win the primary either. So why do they want her to sit down & shut up? Because ... she’s a threat to their dynasties and piggy banks. They are all in bed with each other (literally & figuratively).

Weird post, what does it mean, and how was it relevant to anything?

Odd post, evidently you aren't aware of who the frontrunners are, and who has the money, organization, name ID, and political staff lined up, along with endorsements and commitments.

As far as rinos and voting, they are more likely to support the GOP than not, whereas the conservative base has reached it's limits, and will give a weak turn out to a Mitt Romney, or a Romney clone, and many tea partiers may go third party and give you the GOP 30% that you think is possible.

Sarah Palin is free to run if she wishes. I would encourage her to run if she truly wants to be POTUS. Running is not the same as winning. My question to all the Palin supporters is what are you going to do if she is not the GOP candidate for POTUS? I asked the same question to all the Ron Paul supporters, too. There is no guarantee at this point in time as to whom the candidates will be. I suspect that there may be as many as 15 candidates running for the party's nomination.

Well, you have to consider Perry. Ambivalent as I am about this former democrat, he brings more success stories to the table than anybody else.

Except for Sarah, I'd say. Perry certainly would kick Mitt's behind, I think. I doubt if the other usual suspects could best him in a primary, either.

But, he's said many times recently, that he's got no interest in running for president, and that he will not run. He sounds pretty firm about it, too. When asked, he never pauses, and answers with an unequivocal NO. I've heard him do that two or three times in interviews.

Now, this being Perry, that could turn around in another 6 to 8 months, but for now, I don't expect it will.

As far as whether Sarah will stay out if Perry jumps in, I don't know if she considers him to be what the doctor ordered at this time, or not. Perhaps she does, but I'm not convinced of it. She didn't look 100% certain when she spoke on his behalf during the gubernatorial primary. She looked a bit strained to me, and Rick looked kinda nervous, too. Not sure what's going on there, but the body language looked forced.

We'll see.

Sarah WH press secretary.

What?

You just got done saying that Sarah is your preference for POTUS, and now you suggest this? Press Secretary???

Hell, why not just have your star pitcher run for the job of bat boy?

Seriously, friend. You're all over the place all of a sudden.

Ron Paul has never been a serious candidate, and most of the others are running for name recognition or the veep slot, right now Palin is best positioned to take the primary.

I don’t think Sarah has any love for Mitt; I think he’s finally dead.

I also think any candidate will wait until the last minute to declare, to avoid all the LSM BS.

Perry swears he’s not running, yes, but that also might be to keep the media off him.

Horrible as it is, we’re going to have to wait for polls of mushy-middle mindless independents to find out who our candidate will be. So unfair.

amen! All we have to do is listen to who the democrats and the media are diminishing, and we don’t have to even “try” to listen. It’s like some d*mn democrat started a lawnmover w/out a muffler in the kitchen. Some folks around here are stone deaf, or they’re still fooled by the lying media.

No, I’m not. Remember, in TX, we didn’t even get a say in the ‘08 primaries, it was all decided for us.

I expect it to be all over and done by Feb ‘12, too, decided by Yankee primaries and caucuses. All there is to do is analyze what NH, IA and FL will likely decide for the rest of us.... including the RAT primary crossovers since I sincerely doubt the RNC will do anything to close the primaries over the next year.

I don’t think they’ll go for Mitt if Perry is in the picture. I don’t think DeMint (my real favorite) would get far even if he did run.
