Those 65% are hoping for a bailout.

Sad part is, most of the urbanites wouldn’t know what to do with a deer after they shot it.

LOL—high speed internet. My inlaws have dialup (our property is next to theirs).

I have no experience with it, but according to the hughesnet brochures I receive periodically, they offer high speed internet via satellite most anywhere. A little pricier than cable or telephone providers, but not much more now.

We have everything — desert, beach, mountains, blue skies and temperate weather year around

Texas: check, check, check, check, and 1/2 check.

Stay out of Alaska. It’s too cold and grizzlies will eat your babies and pets.

My home is in the Pocatello area. Out of necessity, I’m
back in San Diego working on a contract that
requires being physically present. There’s lots of
urban outdoorsmen enjoying the mild weather
and scraping by. My company work location is
morphing into a ghost town. I wouldn’t be
surprised to hear a need to move to a different
location in the near future.

When Californians move to Texas, they make both states more liberal.

I say North Dakota. Lowest unemployment rate in the country, low crime, friendly people, beautiful country. Really, climate not as bad as people say; they always mention ND when they think cold weather, but think of all the other states bordering Canada. Beautiful summers and falls. I don’t know where one person is coming from when he’s afraid of a conservative area because they wouldn’t be as willing to help, but he sure has it wrong. Conservatives are all about helping each other so the government doesn’t tell us what to do. We have good schools, 3 colleges in the Fargo area.

The need to make a living sure lets the air out of a lot of plans.

Californians are in the process of wrecking Colorado. Well, Californians and Mexicans. Why do you think they’ll leave Idaho unspoiled?

It comes with the territory: move someplace pretty, wreck it, and move on to the next place.

The weather in the winter can’t be any worse than Northern Maine. I’ve seen three feet of new snow fall in 24 hours on top of the six feet that’s already there. Then, when the skies clear, it gets down to 50 below zero.

My plan is Dallas — sort of un-checks #1 (lol).

and zoning that allows a few chickens

I don't think zoning will be an issue if there is no chicken for sale at your local SuperShop.

That is what exactly happened to California. It used to be the place to make your dreams take flight. Now it where your dreams are enslaved to illegal aliens and witless liberals.

One of the nice things about Michigan is the moderating effect the lakes have on the cimate. If it weren’t for lake Michigan, we’d have winters like North Dakota.

Welcome to the Great State of Texas my FRiend.

Texas is not where you were born but a State of Mind, Heart and Attitude. It goes something like this: “leave us alone to live our lives in peace and we will get along fine, if that is not satisfactory we will deal with it.”

Bring your guns, your family and your dog (or cat). Leave the California Image at the state line.

As far as international locations go Uruguay is certainly very interesting. I've studied Latin America quite a bit, and in fact do a lot of business there. However, it is Panama that has ultimately caught my attention as a preferred international bug-out location.

Here's a link to a good Facebook page on Panama...
