But I heard on some news show that she was “controversial”, “divisive” and “Islamophobic” and blah, blah, blah...

Williams was really fired for being a regular guest on Fox news. The moslem thing was just the excuse. That’s pretty obvious.

Write Juan and ask him how it feels to be treated like a Republican?

His comment is reminiscent of Jesse Jackson’s famous quote about running into a bunch of men in a dark alley and hoping that they were white. Too bad Jesse never got fired.

Saw a poll that blacks support racial profiling by a percentage much higher than whites...

of Arabs.

Bring it up for a fun debate.

In England they monitor all the “random stop and searches” by race. So they include white people to avoid “racial profiling.”

PC stupidity in action.

After Pearl Harbor, why didn’t Time Magazine run a cover story: “Why They Hate Is.”

Please, don’t use that tired old liberal, sounds good but means nothing, phrase “I may not agree with what you say, but I’ll defend to the death your right to say it” BS. If anyone applied that sentiment, it would also conversely mean that you would also kill to protect a person’s right to say what they want. Are you going to put yourself in a position to kill or be killed to protect Juan’s right to be politically incorrect? I didn’t think so. And besides, organizations can promote whatever standards they want, including political speech. The only organization that can’t do that is government. However, you could argue that since NPR is sustained by federal tax dollars, that your speech rights have been infringed upon by overreaching government.

And while I do not share Mr. Williams sentiments

Yeah, right! You feel exactly the same amount of apprehension when you see a group of similarly garbed people on an airplane, whether they are Muslims, Amish, Hasidic Jews, or Boy Scouts. I call "bulls**t!"

It had nothing to do with his words, nothing to do with his being liberal. It was all about his daring to appear on FNC.

There was another woman, Jane something or other who was told to resign from the FNC program or she would be fired from NPR.

Nothing new here. The left abhors the truth in general and free speech in particular.

"When I get on the plane, ... if I see people who are in Muslim garb and ... they are identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried. I get nervous."

Even if they were a group of 20-something men with no carry-ons? Pam Geller disagrees with this?

Publicly, perhaps.

Under Obama and his Democrat Freedom haters, “Big Brother” is alive and well in both the government and NPR!!! Without further ado or comment, the need to vote to destroy Obama and his anti-American Democrat Party at the vtoing booth on November 2, 2010 is more than obviously evident. In fact, it is as evident as the nose on your face!!! Juan Williams is a bona-fide liberal, an Obama lover, to say the least, but....he, as all Americans is entitled to his opinion, as I am to mine. The fact that NPR would fire Mr. Williams, is pure & clear & defined demonstration Of POTUS Obama’s (Communism, Facism and Nazi tactics)desire to control all news and information reaching the public. Vote to destroy the entire Democrat Party on Election Day, November 2, 2010!!!

I hope this unpleasantness with NPR doesn't change Juan's filibustering lunatic liberal rants .... and the gratifyingly ensuing slapdowns by Brit Hume and Bill Kristol -— and Charles Krauthammmer's eye rolling.

Juan is nicely typecast as the earnest but wrongheaded liberal reader of talking points who attempts to win arguments by interrupting and talking over the grownups on the “All star” panel. I wonder if Fox can keep him in that role now that he's lost his credential as a NPR flunkie.

but I will defend to my death his right to speak his mind.

Bravo. I assume that this means that this person defended the property rights and first amendment rights of Muslims who wanted to build a mosque in Manhattan, right? If not, I say a plague on all enemies of free speech, right or left.

I’m a little confused. Didn’t obama say that in these trying times people are scared and frightened? To me, Juan Williams comments are a manifestation of obama’s comment.

So, if we are to believe obama what Williams said is understandable.

It is no longer politically correct to be sane. . . then again, the whole purpose of political correctness might be to induce us into self-destructive insanity.
