The American Patriot Foundation is pleased to announce that LTC Lakin has repositioned his forces, has retained new legal counsel, and is extremely grateful that the Foundation will be dedicating the critical next few weeks before his planned court-martial on November 3-5, to focusing entirely on public affairs, strategic communications/messaging and coalition-building and that their support will continue seamlessly as the new attorney prepares for trial.
The website of the Foundation is being re-designed to reflect this new focus and emphasis. Contrary to the impression left by some blogs and internet commentary, LTC Lakin is consistent in continuing on the same path that he announced publicly six months ago when he released his first YouTube video-- and consistent with his military training, to continue to request assurance from Pentagon leadership that his military orders, including his deployment orders to Afghanistan, are legal-- authorized at the highest level by a Commander-in-Chief who is Constitutionally eligible, per Article II, Section 1 of the U.S. Constitution. As a medical officer and not a lawyer or Constitutional scholar, LTC Lakin is not laying claim to be the sole arbiter of the President's Constitutionality in attempting to determine, without any genuine evidence to make such a determination, the President's "natural born" citizen status. The burden of proof rests solely on Barack Obama to demonstrate to the American people and to the U.S. Armed Forces that he commands, that he is lawfully serving in his current capacity as head of the Executive Branch of the federal government.
The Army prosecutors have made this determination of the Commander-in-Chief's eligibility under the Constitution impossible-- by denying discovery- and essentially denying LTC Lakin the customary due process rights that defendants in American courts enjoy when facing criminal charges, and in LTC Lakin's case, a jail sentence of several years at Fort Leavenworth prison.
The Foundation is pleased to continue to support LTC Lakin, a decorated and outstanding officer with 18 years of service in the Army, as he persists in his pursuit of the truth, the rule of law, and in support of his sworn oath to uphold the U.S. Constitution. Terry is gratified by the many people who have stayed in constant touch with him through the website and deeply appreciates their support, their guidance and suggestions, and their prayers.
What is it that the DOJ Holder's "Benedict Arnolder" brigade of cowardly "defectors" and detractors posting here don't understand, but instead muddying the real issue, the CONSTITUTION??
I am not on your side. I am a liberal—former democrat. Don’t worry about what I do.
I think the question focuses on the wrong issue. Let’s remember that these military actions began long before the Current Occupant donned the mantle of CinC. As we are a nation of laws, not of men, the entire enterprise does not become null and void in the event the guy at the top (speaking carefully here) has some qualification baggage. The Commander in Chief delegates the prosecution of the war. He doesn’t sign every deployment order.
Colonel, USAFR
Hilarious, eh? Poor Obama. I know I feel profiled when I am asked for ID to prove my age. Geez, I got carded about 5 years ago trying to buy SPARKLERS and I was in my 30s.
It’s so unfair. Just so darned unfair when people think you could be younger than you are.
I’d say because the left BASHED McCain for being so old, they earned and deserve my questions about Obama’s age.
Eighteen year olds have to provide ID to buy cigarettes yet Obama is somehow ABOVE having to prove his age to lead this country? Are you kidding me????? If an 18 year old can show his/her ID, why can’t Obama? We all have to do it all the time. Crying about it never got me out of it, either.
Poor little Obama baby and his little trolls. You guys should get a march on Washington DC together for the civil rights of 30-50 year old elitist, political class men. Really, you should.
“Which U.S. President has proven to the American people he was thirty-five years-old when taking office?
WOW, that post really need to receive a FReeper “Cod-fish-reward”!!!”
Oh, well, then Colin Powell, who was on The Hill as early as '72, was just a figment of my imagination.
“Has any of us seen the vital records of any previous president?”
Life’s not fair. SURPRISE!
(My mom told me that when I was 4 years old. Amazingly at four, I was able to deal with it. I have found again and again, how right she was.)
But, but he WON! Isn’t that enough proof?!?
A couple years ago I bought some spray paint and the cashier said my teen couldn’t carry the bag out.
How was your teen able to cope???? Did you have to alert the media to not talk about paint, or aerosol, or graffiti, or show buildings and train cars at night on teevee?
Did you call the cashier names, ridicule them—accuse them of racism? That dumb desperate cashier!
I hope you let them have it good.
“Your view would be a distinct minority one among Regular Army Officers.”
You are incorrect. I work with many “Regular” army types, more of them than reserve. The attitudes are pretty much the same for both regulars and reserve. The only difference is that the regulars aren’t as open in their viewpoints out of fear of career damage.
It isn’t the “military” per se that is keeping this trial from being open, it is the high level general officers that also are more concerned with careers than truth. Goodness, I know MANY that oppose the POTUS’ and SECDEF’ desire to end DADT but they don’t dare speak out in fear of reprisal.
I think you will find those that want to hammer LTC/Dr. Lakin to be uninformed on the full issue. When the full story, in my experience, is presented to a regular, they don’t like the treatment COL/Dr. Lakin is receiving.
Sadly, except for some “ethnic group” officers, most really don’t care for POTUS Obama and question his loyalties to America. The dislike for POTUS Obama is much stronger than it was for POTUS Clinton...and he wasn’t liked.
lol
What really gets me is that Obama can’t be bothered to just ‘humor’ the significant portion of Americans that would like to see his original vital records—but we are all supposed to believe that he fought like a champ to pass a healthcare bill that would benefit us.
I mean, you’d think these people yapping about sticking to the issues might want to point that out.
Military officers have a long history of involvement with government. In Powell’s case that started when he was a White House Fellow as a young Major and worked with Casper Weinberger at HUD. But, government is different than politics those the distinction certainly gets blurred. Powell has been accused of crossing the line between government and politics and I think that the criticism is fair.
I share these attitudes and views. But personal political opinions are to be limited to the circle of friends and family. What is out of line, in my opinion, is to go public with those opinions while serving in uniform.
I think that LTC Lakin is being used by people who envision the glory that will fall to them if they can manage to slay the Dragon. They saw Lakin as their pathway to that objective. In the end, his career will be in tatters and they will continue in their quest without suffering any consequences. His decision to dump his civilian attorney is an indicator that he is starting to figure out what’s happened to him.
Yeah, not to mention the perfumed prince whats-his-name.
“But personal political opinions are to be limited to the circle of friends and family.”
I agree. Even as a reservist I avoid politics publically...at least around the military. Notice that I still call President Obama....President.
“What is out of line, in my opinion, is to go public with those opinions while serving in uniform.”
I “mostly” agree with you, except I do back LTC/Dr. Lakin as a “representative” of many of us that cannot speak. I would never want this to be done by many. I think LTC/Dr. Lakin is acting out of pure motives and a very brave man. For him to do this is IMO appropriate. However, I fear he is just going to be stomped out and never really heard.
You spoke earlier about the “regulars” being more apolitical. Well, I work close to a COL that has a private office. Every afternoon he religiously watches Glen Beck. He is not that unusual.
LTC Lakin’s motive’s are pure and his intentions are honorable. But, he has received terrible advice and will pay the price for listening to it.
Lifes not fair. SURPRISE!
(My mom told me that when I was 4 years old. Amazingly at four, I was able to deal with it. I have found again and again, how right she was.)
“Isnt that the exact same expression that Obama is using for those demanding his release of his records?
Lifes not fair. SURPRISE!”
Yep. But, he wants my vote. He wants Hillary voters to turn out for him, and independents, too.
But I don’t vote for giant p*ssies. Sorry.
So, I’m not sure how it helps him to keep it under lock and key like a big spoiled baby.
Besides, you never know...verifying obama’s date of birth may end up being a legitimate reason to request access.
We’ll see...according to OIP op ltr 90-23, it is a legitimate reason for a non-relative with a personal or property interest to inspect a registrant’s vital records.
The Fourth Amendment is both personal and property rights. And the POTUS can waive those protections under martial law.
Yep. But, he wants my vote. He wants Hillary voters to turn out for him, and independents, too.

That’s his political calculation and the price he just might have to pay for ignoring your point of view.
Based on what both Bill Clinton and George W. Bush did during their first terms, I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if there is what Washington insiders call “a document drop” when a massive amount of personal information is released all at once, on a Friday afternoon to minimize the impact on the news cycle. “Document drops” usually occur close to an actual presidential election to maximize the political advantage against one’s opponent.
