The Medical Marijuana Ruse

Los Angeles, CA County Sheriff Lee Baca -- otherwise a proponent of the healing herb for those in true need -- says the overwhelming majority of so-called medical marijuana dispensaries operating in La La Land operate as criminal enterprises to supply the recreational user, and some of the establishments are obtaining their product from the Mexican drug cartels.

Meanwhile, Jesus Ernesto Chávez Castillo a/k/a El Camello, the reputed leader of the binational Barrio Azteca gang who was arrested last July for allegedly ordering the March 13, 2010 murders of Lesley Ann Enriquez, a U.S. consulate employee, and her husband, Arthur Redelfs, an El Paso sheriff's deputy, appeared yesterday at a federal court hearing which was closed to the public in San Antonio, TX.

Goes even deeper than that. The medical, excuse me, recreational marijuana users, don’t tell the real mission is to have everything legalized and be able to be bought out of the same dispensaries which tickles the cartels pink.

It’s all about demand. This country spends $600 a second trying to enforce stupid drug laws. If the government doesn’t want supply it, narco terrorists will.

Same thing is happening in Michigan now. Enough people bought the lie that marijuana is medicine and now pot growing facilities are opening up and spewing the same propaganda that’s been on the net. Real story: A drug addicted individual I know got a medical marijuana presciption to “treat’ the hepatitis he got from using abusing his body with drugs and alcohol.

I’m not certain that marijuana users are stupider than chronic prescription drug users.

Rasmussen national survey, late July 2010:

Seventy-five percent (75%) support medicinal marijuana use, while only 14% say patients should not be allowed to smoke doctor-prescribed pot. Support for medical marijuana is even higher than it was in October, when 63% said it should be allowed.

It would be great if all the recreational drug dealers and users would go jump off a cliff IMO because none of it does anything good for the country.
Every year more kids are getting into this stuff and when you legalize anything kids think it is safe.

In my building a tenant had a big pot plant on the stairs in back. They are long term pot heads, there is no real medical issue and leaving a pot plant exposed without being present puts the landlord at legal risk and someone who could get hurt trying to steal the dam thing.

“leaving a pot plant exposed without being present puts the landlord at legal risk and someone who could get hurt trying to steal the dam thing.”

You’re right, it does put everyone at risk. But common sense would dictate that if sold at Wal-Mart in the same manner as nicotine cigarettes we would not have this problem. Government could theoretically undercut the street dealers/home growers making it useless to sell or grow the stuff in the first place. Mexico, it’s people, and the government are currently being held hostage by drug lords because of the demand for drugs in this country. That doesn’t bother you?

I have studied our drug laws, and have quite a bit of knowledge in the field as it pertains to It’s impact on our society. Your argument is useless. The numbers speak for themselves. 10,000 people die annually as a result of illicit drugs. nearly 1,000,000 die as a result of alcohol, tobacco, and licit drugs (prescription). Yet our focus remains on Marijuana, a drug that no one has ever overdosed on.

Should I move on to crime, corrections, and terrorist organizations that thrive because of our ineptitude in reforming our drug laws?

Or, here's a thought, we could legalize it, regulate it, and excise tax it just like tobacco or alchohol. That way the it could be grown right here in America by Americans. The narco-gangs would be deprived of a huge source of revenue, and our Government might, just might, realize that treating people like adults who can make their own choices is a good thing.

The American treasury would be fattened by a Constitutional source of revenue (an excise tax paid willingly by those who consume the product), American farmers would have another source of income, and we could eliminate scads of Federal, State, and local 'drug agents' who would then be free to find productive work in the Private sector.

But there are far too many people even on this forum who think that telling adults what they can and can not put into their own bodies is a legitimate function of the Federal government.

Current laws against consuming marijuana are not the reason I don’t and if it were legal tomorrow, I wouldn’t start.

People kid themselves if they think prohibition stops anyone from using it. I also don’t believe, as many do (even here) that the entire country would turn into pot-heads if it were legalized.

That would IMO be insane because we already see what alcohol has done damage wise to the nation.

If you check most crimes connected to violence and theft, there are usually marijuana, other drugs and often booze mixed in.

You don't screw people up further by trying to turn the USA into Amsterdam.

Hope all these pot heads and dealers die off quickly before they take more new generations coming up.
They do GREAT damage to our country IMO.

“You don’t screw people up further by trying to turn the USA into Amsterdam.”

Do you know anything about the statistics as it relates to drug use in Amsterdam?

“The Netherlands does not differ greatly from other European countries. In contrast, a comparison with the US shows a striking difference in this area: 32.9% of Americans aged 12 and above have experience with cannabis and 5.1% have used in the past month. These figures are twice as high as those in the Netherlands.”

Do you wish to see alcohol prohibited as well? Do you have any idea how organized crime evolves?

Completely restrict the drugs like pot to the real sick people who have legitimate diseases and are not just pot heads. Cancer and the like.
Not your regular bad back, headaches or anything else you pay a doctor $40 to write the excuse not for.

Booze is pretty well banned, they just need to get better about much higher fines and confiscating the personal wealth of alcoholics who damage others IMO.

The problem with your argument, is that you have no idea what your talking about. Cannabis has no medical purpose whatsoever, <-— schedule 1 drug. Countless studies prove this. Your better off taking natural Willow Bark in heavy doses. <——very much legal, and not a drug.

I think pot is almost only used by potheads and mixed use drug/alcohol abusers.

But if pot makes some cancer patient happy and they don’t sell or share it, I wouldn’t complain about it.
I just think they should require a real prescription by a real doctor for a real reason with almost no refills.
