I think this could help explain why North Carolina Democratic Congressman Bob Etheridge attacked those college students the other day....

I’ll tell you this, that kid showed a lot of restraint. If that jackass grabbed me by the back of the neck, I would have punched him in the throat and kneed his nuts in. People who put their hands on others need to be treated the same way, or they will do it again!
Well, okay, formal versus ancillary cause.
I agree with you completely, but those kids would’ve ended up in jail or worse if they fought him.
I don’t think federal law looks kindly on assaulting members of congress....even jerks who ask for it like Etheridge.
You’re right, no doubt about that.
This Congress-man (makes you wonder why they call it congress) acted like a child-molesting uncle:
“Who are you? (’Do I know anyone related to you?’)”
That was his tone. He seemed expert in the arts of intimidation: invade personal comfort space, restrain, threaten, then advance—an embrace is actually just a more violent form of restraint.
What gets me is the speed and practiced manner that the congressman applied these tactics; he’s done this before.
I hope someone down there is checking out his history. Here’s one that may not surprise us.
It's really a matter of how the courts would treat the right to defend oneself against battery by anyone including a congressman. One hopes the court would decide for self defense.

I don’t blame them for not taking the chance, the Dems really run the show right now...remember in November!
I saw this yesterday, I LOVE iOTW!
His reaction and tactics raised a flag with me too! It just seemed so odd. These guys get it from all directions all the time! His overreaction was so unreasonable, yet intentional.
Agreed, my thoughts from my first view of the incident.
The time may be coming when there won't be that restraint.
In Congress and the WH, yes. But the right court and the right judge could deter their bully tactics on this issue.
True...and the Dems days are number too...the one thing that helps me sleep at night :-)
