They're just all slimy and gross. I like most other veggies, but Brussells sprouts are disgusting.
See #12
Give them to our dogs . . . they like them.
“... if you want something truly disgusting, try Brussel Sprouts and Okra.”
I can’t imagine. As a kid I’d puke on okra because of its sliminess.
See post 8.
You had to go start an arugulament.
Steam and dip in Vidalia Honey Mustard Sauce
YIKES it’s a taste sensation I tell you...
Never liked spinach much.
I’m sorry, Sistah. We need to part ways on this issue. I appreciate what you do for America and all but I love me my sprouts!
Have you ever had them fresh from the garden, lightly steamed and swimming in butter?
If not, then you’ve been eating Army-issue cr@p, LOL! (And I’ve eaten a LOT of Army-issue cr@p for more years than I care to remember!)
Beautiful Picture!
It’s good if it’s a hanging chard.
Have they been pooping in your yard?
Then don’t eat them. Last time I looked it was still a free country, at least as far as what you eat is concerned.
That may be changing in the future unless we oust the current resident of 1600 Pensylvania Ave.
That's just it. I'm not a baby; I'm grown up. So, I don't have to eat gross things I don't like anymore.
In fact, if I want a freakin' hot fudge sundae for dinner, I can have one.
Because I pay bills and taxes.
So there. {sticking tongue out and putting hands beside ears, waggling fingers}
Fried okra be very good stuff.
Well, I really like pork ribs, I may post a rib lover’s thread. I just don’t know.

Chard is wonderful. Saute it in a bit of olive oil, season it with some fresh nutmeg, some cumin, salt and pepper, a teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce and put some chickenbroth in for the last five minutes. Yum yum.
What is this? A slow day? Some clown posts he hates cats and now this? Eat the d@mn sprouts and lets all move on.
Then you haven’t cooked them right. Try this:
Put a pan on the stove. Grind a few twists of fresh pepper into it; add a pinch of cayenne. Heat until it starts to smoke.
Add 1 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil. Swirl. Add 1/2 c raw pine nuts. Stir occasionally until toasted golden, 2-3 minutes.
Remove pine nuts. Reserve.
Add another 2 tablespoons EVOO. Add washed-and-trimmed sprouts.
Stir, 1 minute. The sprouts will turn the most gorgeous green you have ever seen.
Add 1 c Whle Foods Market vegetable broth. Yes, Whole Foods. Their veg broth is the best on the market, and a bargain. Yes, a bargain. Oh all right, you can use a different broth, even a chicken broth. Just add it and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the sprouts are almost tender, about 7 minutes.
Add 2 minced shallots. Continue to simmer, stirring occasionally.
Stir in 1/2 tablespoon dry marjoram, or 1 tablespoon fresh diced marjoram.
Season with salt and another couple twists fresh-ground pepper; add a dash more EVOO, or some cream. Add half the pine nuts. Stir until coated.
Serve. Sprinkle with the rest of the pine nuts. Ambrosia!
Really, you have got to try this. It is magnificent. Even my kids like it.
