Is the tea party movement being hoodwinked by the establishment?
Brian Shoemake

The one thing I take away from today's rally in Searchlight Nevada, is that the tea party is without question coalescing, and fiercely I might add, around a single Presidential candidate for 2012. . .Already. It's early in the game yet, and the whole idea behind the Tea Party movement was to objectively review all of our potential choices, so we would never be led down the path again. At least that's what I thought.

After today, I'll never again look at the Tea Party movement as one made up of Constitutional Conservatives. They may be Conservative, but sadly, not my brand of Conservatism.

Independent thinkers? I think not. Group thinkers? Indeed.

After a rip-roaring reception for the Keynote Speaker, I was sadly disillusioned at the lack of criticism toward the former Alaska Governor and Republican Party "Cover Girl," Sarah Palin.

Wasn't it just yesterday, she was in Arizona campaigning for the former "Maverick" suddenly turned rock-ribbed conservative "reach-across-the-isle" moderate "RINO" John McCain of McCain/Feingold, McCain/Kennedy fame? And who also voted for Amnesty for illegal aliens? That gang of 14 John McCain?

The same John McCain who tenderly re-assured us during the 2008 campaign: "Barack Obama is a good man...If he's elected President you don't have anything to worry about." That John McCain?

Yes, indeed Sarah Palin is supporting that same John McCain who sided with Bill Clinton against the Republicans and voted for the tobacco tax in the 90's that led to trial lawyers raking in millions at the expense of Americans.

The same John McCain who voted in favor of campaign finance reform, and FDA regulation of vitamin supplements, the Patriot Act, and more.

Sarah Palin spent Friday campaigning for John McCain against the true conservative and former Arizona Congressman J.D. Hayworth who has a true conservative record, and is campaigning on true constitutional values.

Nothing conservative about that.

Then she spent Saturday spouting conservative talking points like some kind of right wing warrior with Tea Partyers screaming like 12 year old girls at a Jonas Brothers concert.

Nothing especially objective about that, or conservative as far as I'm concerned.

I realized long ago that you can't listen to what politicians say, you have to watch what they do, and Sarah Palin's actions do not match her words.

I never thought the Tea Party crowd could be so easily manipulated by the main-stream establishment machine. I only wish they would stick to true conservative values and consider the other candidates before they hitch their wagons to the apron strings of pretty ms. Palin.

As I made my way through the crowd voicing my dis-approval of their irrational and exuberant support for Sarah Palin, I was yelled at and ridiculed by Tea Party attendees. I was subjected to near violence in one instance. I was told to "Get the hell out of here." and "You don't belong here boy." "Go back to Obama where you belong you commie." and other select less than flattering remarks about my looks and my political beliefs, and my sexual preferences.

Striking behavior when you consider we are all conservative adults. The thought that was going through my head was: "Obama Zombies" only worse..."Palin Zombies!" It was the exact same group-think mentality with absolutey zero tolerance for my opinion. I was actually told that "I am the reason this country is so screwed up, and if I knew what was good for me I'd get the hell out of here..."

I realized I was dealing with a group-think mentality who had already drunk the Koolaid. There was no reasoning with them. Apparently, Conservatives are so desperate for leadership, they'll line up behind the first pied-piper who comes along, regardless the consequences to the country. Sound at all familiar? The same machine that was behind the election of obama is hard at work drilling the brains of the Tea Partyers. Maybe not the exact same people, just the exact same political establishment machine...

What did I take away from today's Tea Party rally in Searchlight?

There's another "Hoodwink" coming in 2012 and it scares the hell out of me.

Here’s the interview:

http://www.univision.com/content/content.jhtml;jsessionid=EGMZQ3EX2ATY0CWIABQCFFAKZAAGMIWC?chid=3&schid=10414&secid=25534&cid=1716304&pagenum=2

She seems to be confused as to exactly what her position is. She says she’s for partial amnesty (”not total amnesty”), says we’d never remove all the illegals, and says we should give them a path to citizenship.

Well, if you don’t remove them (or take actions that will cause many, even most, to self-deport) and you give them a path to citizenship, then what are you left with? Amnesty.

It’s clear if you listen to what she said.

” Oh, ok so then she’s a fraud. Supporting McCain in the primary, even though she really would rather see Hayworth win. All I hear on talk radio and on conservative websites/blogs is that we need to get behind the most conservative candidates in the primaries. If Palin owes her fame and fortune to McCain then those who support her do to? Or were they supporters of her long before McCain picked her as his running mate?”

No she’s not a fraud. Her showing this initial support for John M to me is payback for his including her on the ticket.

That election is over and her debt is now paid.

My point is that I think she won’t dump on Hayworth, she’ll support him.

P.S. I only voted for McCain for 2 reasons:

1. Didn’t want Obama
2. He nominated Palin - who to me is the real deal

Last weekend, right before she went down to see McNut, Sarah specifically warned us on FOX news that the Democrats would try amnesty next.

Do you have a link for that? Thanks.

Listen to the video clip from about 2:00 min/sec to about 2:40 for full context. She is warning that if the leftists pass Obamacare against the will of the people, they will then try to pass Cap and Tax and Amnesty for Illegals, next.

Make a case for your views that does not involve ad homine attacks at either Palin or her supporter. In making that case against Palin do not engage in the logical fallacy of stating your opinions as facts.

So far none of the Palin foes have done that simple thing. That is why the critics of Palin are gaining no ground with Freepers. We are use to seeing those sorts of gutter slime debate tactics directed at us from the Left. Those tactics merely piss off Conservatives.

Deserves repeating.

>>>But it seems to me it is all about one person - Palin. <<<

Have you been to a Tea Party where Palin was not a speaker or on the agenda? If you had, you would find that the focus of the activity is on Smaller Government, Lower Taxes, Robust Defense, and stopping Illegal Immigration.

Yes, there are some Palin signs - but she is not the primary motivator.

. The reason there is a T-Party movement is Obama and his totalitarian priorities and style!

We want American back - there are any number of solid Republicans that could run DC better - Palin may be one but she's far from he only one!

If there were no conservatives running in Arizona against McCain, it wouldn’t bother me so much that Sarah Palin was campaigning for him.

However, since JD Hayworth is running against the RINO, Sarah Palin is actively campaigning against the conservative. I don’t care if she feels that she needs to pay McCain back. The political good old boys network is destroying this country. A true conservative doesn’t sacrifice deeply held principles to pay back a “Favor.” That’s what sets us apart from the opposition, and quite frankly, a banana republic.

Obama is paying back all of his favors right now...Acorn, SEIU, the Auto Workers unions etc. Do we really need more of that? More politicians being given a pass for this back slapping good old boys behavior at the expense of liberty and freedom? I think not.

John McCain did Sarah Palin no favors in the latter days of the 2008 election. She owes him nothing. He placed her on the ticket and she worked hard for him. It was McCain who blew the election, not Sarah Palin. She did her job and she owes him nothing. It makes no sense that she would feel “Obligated” to abandon her principles to campaign against a true conservative after the slander job of Palin by McCain’s own staff in the media following the election.

During that time John McCain didn’t stand up for Sarah Palin’s dignity and honor one time. He remained silent while his own staff slammed her personally and professionally.

Why would Sarah Palin throw J.D. Hayworth under the bus to support John McCain? Either she is not a true conservative, or she is under the control of the Republican political machine. I don’t buy this “paying back a favor” excuse, and if you do, you’re missing the whole point of the Tea Party movement.

We don’t need anymore of this “Political Payback” and whenever I see it happening, I’m going to expose it. It’s important to be mindful of this behavior. That’s why I wrote the article. I hope it serves to make the Tea Party movement even stronger.

Thank you.
Sincerely,
Brian K. Shoemake

If we don't vote for the 'repeal' candidates, how will we get a veto proof congress next time?

Easy there, Cowboy. I never said anything about not voting for "repeal" candidates. I said be careful of tired old nags who will use the heat of the moment and the zest for "repeal" as a method to gain or return to office by presenting themselves as something that they are not. There is going to be a lot of that going on. The key for voters is to decide which ones are genuine and which ones are fake. My guess, and hence, my warning, is there will be a lot of fakes this go around. As I said Rhambo Emanuel isn't the only politician that understands the usefulness of a crisis....

He had me fooled when he first came on the scene, and I’m not that easy to fool when it comes to people. He had all the trappings, articulate, good looks, good presentation. But it
didn’t take long for the wheels to come off. I won’t give him the honor of calling him a socialist, he’s an out and out communist. If you don’t get rid of him and his ilk he’ll have the country looking like Cuba in short order. That’s scary!

“Someone” is trying to register the Tea party movement as a political party in Michigan. In my opinion, this is a ploy by the democrats to marginalize the movement and take votes away from the Republicans. The Democrats will muddy the waters if they can and it’s all legal. Sounds like Soros money is behind this move since the Tea Party is grass roots and not organized in any official manner. The cost to Register will be around 100,000.00 and I doubt the “Tea Party” has that kind of financial backing, considering it’s grass roots. This is something the Democrats are good at, don’t discount the possibility.

To get a glimpse of the Obama voter I recommend you take a moment and look at these sites, I found them beyond belief and I’m sure you will agree, please take a look.

These are two of many similar sites, a sad commentary on the
intelligence of the American voter.

Most of us who are conservative and know what the TEA party (little letter "p") is all about, will be able to spot these phonies a mile away. An ostrich can put on an elephant suit, but it still walks like an ostrich.

The left doesn't get it yet that the TEA party movement is NOT, and has never tried to be, a political party. Try tried to defeat it my ridicule by starting the "Coffee Party", and about 10 people showed up.

Another guy out west tried to start an official "tea Party", and it fell apart too.

Another thing the left hasn't picked up on yet is, we finally know that the wet spots on our shoes is not rain, but them pissing on our shoes and telling us it's rain.

Most of the folks on the right are busy with their lives, good people who never believed that anyone could be like this administration against this great country...now that their eyes are opened, they are sorely pissed about it.

Everyone has turned on their "trojan horse alarm", and the antennas are raised in search of the weasels.

Most democrats still think the TEA party is about a beverage...let them keep thinking that...

Unfortunately the majority of voters on the left are uneducated dolts. If they read the papers at all they come away with what the press want them to know, sad, very sad indeed. It is to the lefts advantage to keep them uneducated because if they started to look around and ask questions the Democrats would be a forgotten party, which is what they should be.

What is really sad is that too many people have been taken in and too few really analyze what’s going on. Sadder still is the fact that too many on both classes agree with him, they
have their own personal reasons for doing so. In the end we all believe what we want to believe but all too often we believe what someone else wants us to believe.
