She's not the only one. For me someone like Michele Bachmann is just as courageous if not more so because she's an elected official who has to get re-elected in November. Palin doesn't have to worry about that now that she resigned from elected office.
Once again....here is my post and please read it carefully. I didn't say you said these things. I was very clear because I was citing several different posters:
Alice, I know you have seen the threads where certain posters post things like, "FUSP" and "Just pick the money up off the dresser, Palin" (referring to money supposedly left by McCain and essentially calling Palin a whore).
Just this morning, a long time FReeper called Sarah Palin "the enemy" on another thread.
These are the sorts of flame baiting posts that are leading to all the anger. Most of us that defend Palin against these vile comments don't like McCain.
The poster that said "FUSP" made that comment on his original post at comment #1. It was not a response to anyone else's comments. This is what I was trying to point out. These comments are unprovoked.
I did not, however, claim that you said any of these things.
Yes Bachmann is good and so are some others.
I could care less what is written on one’s hand. Do you really think that lowers her as a human being? I must say I don’t require perfection in any human much less a politician.
I didn’t say you had called me such things - I was called these things before the post with the FUSP was even posted. The attacks coming from the Palinistas are simply over the top - to ANYONE that disagrees - not just the ones who say inappropriate things.
The author gives himself away by showing contempt for the specifics of Sarah's speech.
A no-thank-you helping of McCain endorsement would have been one thing. This week has really been over the top.
I disagree but you are certainly entitled to your opinion.
Who would YOU have invited??
I was at the super, so I’m getting back to you now.
“How about ONE of you make a calm, rational argument against her for a change instead of just endlessly engaging in this sort of bile laced hysteric ad homine attack style politics?”
Prove to me where I have said the above?
If Sarah were black, all of you would be calling us racists.
And because we disagree with you and Sarah, you automatically accuse us of hating her. You are so blind. Disagreeing and hating are two different things.
Some of us have a brain and are comparing and thinking for ourselves. Group-think mentality is for the masses and not for the few of us who refuse to be part of a/the group.
Sarah is talking out of both sides of her mouth. A few days ago she was agreeing with McCain. Now she is speaking out of the other side of her mouth and saying the opposite. That doesn’t wash for me. I call it lying.
The cheeky Kenyan bastard got elected on group-thinking.
McCain would also have been an equal disaster. Rather than being born in Kenya, he was born in the Republic of Panama and is also a big liar and crook.
I'm not sure she is the best candidate for President, but I do know that we will never win any election if we insist on 100% purity. We are all human and have faults, why should a politician be any different? If I agree with a candidate 80% of the time and that other 20% is minor stuff, why throw them away? And yes, I think paying respect to McCain is minor. It's good manners and how common courtesy used to work. I guess some would rather Sarah ignore her moral values. Is that really what we want in a politician?
And once more, I am not saying Sarah should run for President, I am just saying people are flipping out over a minor incident in this major battle.
From looking at the event flier, it appears they had plenty of speakers without Palin.
But I’ll admit I’m not familiar with at least 5 of the speakers, or with their views and political positions. It’s possible Palin isn’t the only one with contrary positions. I don’t know.
So then they are both doing a good job standing up to Obama.
What contrary positions?
” McCain was eclipsed by Sarah Palin in Arizona. She made him look small and almost secondary by comparison. When Juan loses to J.D., she’ll support Hayworth much more vigorously than what she showed for Juan in the election that really matters. “
Good observation, and one I hope comes true..........
ejdrapes, I sent you a copy of my reply to MNJohnnie for your perusal. I thought it tad insulting for those who are not herd followers and can independently think for ourselves.
Did I say that? No. Said I thought the American Thinker would spot a troll and not publish one. Are there leftists out trying to split the Tea Party movement and the GOP by trashing Palin for endorsing McCain? You know there are. Not suggesting anyone here is but I see them on other forums. Especially on forums which are not primarily devoted to politics. Many of them don't even play the part of a troll. They are leftists who say they don't like Palin because she endorsed McCain (that makes little sense, they should like McCain but then leftists don't make sense)
Why did you put leftist troll in quotes? Makes it appear you are quoting me.
Make a case for your views that does not involve ad homine attacks at either Palin or her supporter. In making that case against Palin do not engage in the logical fallacy of stating your opinions as facts.
So far none of the Palin foes have done that simple thing. That is why the critics of Palin are gaining no ground with Freepers. We are use to seeing those sorts of gutter slime debate tactics directed at us from the Left. Those tactics merely piss off Conservatives.
You should speak for yourself Gatun and not pretend to think for independent thinkers.
Endorsing a non-conservative instead of a conservative, for one.
But I suppose I should be more precise: McCain has supported and authored a significant number of Liberty destroying measures in the Senate over the years. Yet he is the one Palin decided to endorse, rather than the conservative candidate.
Endorsing a Liberty grabber is contrary to the beliefs of many, perhaps most, TEA Party supporters.
Do you disagree with me about that?
