TWO DIFFERENT DLN NUMBERS AND DATE STAMP INCONSISTENT WITH CONTEMPORANEOUS SS REGISTRATIONS

According to The Sonoran News, when two people requested Obama’s Selective Service registration through the Freedom of Information Act, each received a computer printout with different information.
In a televised interview with George Stephanopoulos on September 7, 2008, Obama stated, “I had to sign up for Selective Service when I graduated from high school…in 1979.” However, the requirement to register with the Selective Service had been suspended in 1975 and was not reinstated until 1980....

"Mr. J. Stephen Coffman sent in a request for Obama’s Selective Service registration form on October 13, 2008. When he received the information along with a letter from Mr. Richard S. Flavahan, Associate Director for Public Affairs and Intergovernmental Affairs, he noted that the computer date stamp showed “September 9, 2008,” which was more than a month before he made his FOIA request. It also happened to be two days after Obama’s televised interview with George Stephanopoulos."
...Did Obama actually ever register with the Selective Service? If so, did he register late? If he registered at all, which birth certificate did he present? Would the COLB shown during the 2008 presidential campaign have been enough?
WHOA, WHA?

Is it still mandatory for 18-year-old men to sign up with the SS? I thought there was a conscientious objector clause still in place?

BO/BS is lying. I distinctly remember having to register in 1980 since I was the first year eligible and I'm a year older than the usurper.

I’m remembering it was a smaller window than that, only 2-3 years. I happen to be in it.

I wasn't referring to a "window". I was referring to when registration was re instituted in 1980. I was irked because a friend who was a year older than me didn't have to register.

There are three ways to take that statement: One, that he meant that he graduated in 1979 and then, as an 18 year-old in 1980 had to register, or, two, he’s lying by saying he had to register in 1979, or, three, he knows he had to register after he graduated and thought he did that after he graduated in 1979 but he’s just mistaken and actually did so in 1980.

If he’s lying, there’s a possibility that he’s making the claim because it would shore up his claim to be a U.S. citizen. We’ve never seen his college records. He would have had to indicate on his application forms where he was born or what country his citizenship is in.

I’m agreeing with you. BO claims a 5 year window, I’m saying it wasn’t that long.

You don't need a birth certificate when you register for the Selective Service.

As to determining whether computer files were fiddled with, there's only way to know for sure and that's to get a good team of forensic computer experts to look at all the government hard drives involved in handling Obama's Selective Service information since he became a "public" person.

Is it likely the US government would allow this? What do you think?!

Other than looking at the hard drives of gosh-who-knows-how many-government computers that no one is ever going to get access to (at least legally!), we can look at all the date and time stamps and DLNs and on and on and it won't mean diddly squat.

I think that there may have been 2 age “classes” enrolled that first year. I graduated HS in ‘77 and so was not required to register with Selective Service. My brother graduated in ‘79 and he did have to register.

BO's/BS's statement: “I had to sign up for Selective Service when I graduated from high school…in 1979.”

His statement leaves no room for ambiguity and therefore eliminates the first possibility. Registering for the draft is not something one forgets. He graduated in May or June of 1979 but didn't have to register until August of 1980. That's too long a gap to confuse and blur the time line.

You're correct but your brother could not register until 1980 when the new registration law took effect.

I hope the Bambi-Camp/Re-Election Campaign is ready for the onslaught of this during any attempt to run him for reelection in 2012. They are fools if they think, even for just a split second this will not become a huge campaign issue.

We were fooled once, we won’t be fooled again...
