Dang, this interview is good! The Pauls's are interviwed together on CNN and discuss their desire to fix the gridlock in Washington. They are not dummies by any stretch of the imagination. Ron: "The mechanism is broken because it's financially broke.....once the government gets as much debt as we have, the liquidation of debt always happens, you can't avoid it.....and it will be liquidated by paying back money that doesn't have as much value". Rand: "The voters are asking how are we going to spend a trillion dollars on healthcare and not add anything to the debt?....Show me the government program that's ever come in under budget....the government notoriously underestimates the cost of programs and when something is free people have a tendency to overuse it."

Who would have predicted the collapse of the Soviet Union? Wasn’t nukes or war that did them in but an unsustainable economic system.
Ron Paul did a lot to amplify my impression of him as a goofball the other day when he accused the Fed of financing the 1974 Watergate break-in. I am no big fan of Bernanke or the Fed either, for that matter, but they are not evil alien conspiratorial invaders.

Ron Pual is the only person that get it. Most of you so called “conservatives” are actually big government statists.
This bares repeating until the brain trusts in Washington finally allow it to percolate through their dense skulls.
Personally, I like Paul and I love small government!
Yes, our government is becoming too big to fail...
I like Ron Paul’s economic policies but on foreign policiy the man is a raving moonbat, an absolute DoDo bird. That’s why I will work vigorously within the GOP to marginalize and defeat him.
Very few people have much to gain from predicting the collapse of the USA. Nothing about Ron Paul indicates that this is what he desires, or that he has something to gain from it. What he says, simply makes sense. This discussion about healthcare, is the wrong discussion. We need to be discussing how we will pay our debt off, and not be manipulated by foriegn creditors.
“I am no big fan of Bernanke or the Fed either, for that matter, but they are not evil alien conspiratorial invaders.”
Bernanke and the FED are bankrupting our country, conspiratorial or not. That is evil. Do you get the news?
I totally agree with you. Ron Paul is lost on foreign policy. Watch out now. The Ron Paul moonbats are flocking to this thread.
Who is Ron Pual?
Sheesh. If he is trying to steal Ron Paul’s identity, he should at least get the spelling right.
“I like Ron Pauls economic policies but on foreign policiy the man is a raving moonbat, an absolute DoDo bird.Thats why I will work vigorously within the GOP to marginalize and defeat him.”
That is why I am not a Republican, Republicans believe we need to be constantly at war. Hardly any Republicans are actually for small government. They talk a good game, but in the end, they just want a different type of big government.
“That is why I am not a Republican”
Good then have Congressmen Rhu Paul quit the GOP and join you and the other moonbats and enjoy your 1-2% fringe movement of the electorate.
“Republicans believe we need to be constantly at war.”
That’s a crock. Republicans believe in a strong national defense which in most cases avoids war. No amount of un-involvement or isolationalism is going to neutralize the Islamofasicism threat which is global. We got sucked into WWII. Passivism always invites agression and there are too many examples throughout history which backs that up. This is where Rhu Paul falls off the cliff and 98% of conservatives know it.
We are not fake conservatives as it takes more than just being fiscally conservative to be a conservative.
“Sooner or later, the Chinese, Japanese, etc will stop funding our social programs and our military. I’m looking forward to it.”
The frothing ignorance you are displaying just confirms the charges what moonbats you Rhu Paulites are.
Nope, US government's obligations are greater than the entire world's GDP. p>
Since many of our Allies have abdicated their military obligations to defend themselves to us. Their obligation to us is even greater to help keep the enemy at the gate. Obozo and this Congress has done more damage in government spending than anything I have ever seen. When they are purged we need to cut Federal spending by 19% across the board for starters mainly in areas where the Feds have no business.
