Last I checked, I didn't see too many Republicans, not even the RINOs supporting gay marriage. I don't personally see the point in heaping invective on gays (all the fudge references here). It doesn't seem too Christian an attitude.
I don't want any form of special legal rights given to them, but when we start invoking the name of God and how His divine wrath shall be visited upon them, I think we see why the Republicans have had a hard time breaking from the Bible Belt in a significant way. I'm not saying their lifestyle is good, holy, or correct, but we don't need our own Taliban in the form of the Republican Party.
