Texas Gubernatorial candidate Debra Medina spoke to an enthusiastic Kingwood Tea Party crowd in far-northeast Houston Saturday interested in hearing her plans to reform the Lone Star State. Medina made no reference about her Glenn Beck interview. However, the 20 or so random people with whom this reporter spoke before and after her speech seemed to accept Medinas follow-up response released by her campaign a couple of hours after the Thursday morning radio interview. As Char with Texans for Nullification Today said, If you go back and look at the radio transcript, when Glenn asked if she believed the government was involved in bringing down the World Trade Centers, Medinas first two words were, I dont. If shes guilty of anything, its for being verbose and not using a teleprompter. The Tea Partiers seemed to be far more concerned about the possibility of having to elect the lesser of two evils, incumbent Gov. Rick Perry or Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, as the next state Governor. Medina pounded on hot button topics such as Perrys support of the mandatory HPV vaccination, the Trans Texas Corridor and his support of state college tuition rates for illegal immigrants, as well as Hutchisons support of the Federal Bailouts, Amnesty for illegal immigrants and pro-abortion rights. State Sovereignty was a reoccurring theme in Medinas speech. Many of you stand with me in saying enough is enough. Weve had enough tyranny and corruption from our federal government, she said. From refusing to recognize Roe v Wade in Texas, to keeping the EPA off the backs of Texans, Medina was emphatic in her refusal to allow illegal Federal actions if she were governor. Although Medina said she would be willing to support a Texas Resolution declaring State Sovereignty, she said she didnt see the need to do so, as Texas currently has the right under the Tenth Amendment now a governor with the courage to stand up and say no to the Federal government is all thats needed.
Illegal immigration was another topic that met the approval of the Tea Party crowd. When you cross the Texas border, youre on private property. You are welcome to our state, but you need to go through the gate, not the river. She indicated that because the Federal government is not meeting its obligation to properly enforcing the international border, she would be compelled to communicate her intensions to the Mexican government, while building up and eventually deploying the Texas National Guard to seal the Texas-Mexico border. Medinas passion on Gun Rights and a balanced Budget resonated with the Tea Partiers, as she pointed out the record of opponents Perry and Hutchison. We need to elect citizen leaders, not more of the status quo, she said. As Texas is currently $33 billion in debt, triple of what Perry inherited when he first took office, it would take until 2047 to pay that debt off. At the state and federal level, government must end its insatiable appetite to spend our childrens money. |
Yep..... Texas Politics.
According to my Texan father, Perry is a RINO by Texas standards, but not by Washington DC standards, but KBH is a whole lot worse and completely unacceptable. Perry is good on property rights, lower property taxes, the 10 Amendment, fiscal matters and pretty good on border security.
As opposed to Medina they know that the Federal Government did not orchestrate the 9/11 murders and that Police Officers indeed died in the towers. How about that? For one, Medina said she's not a Truther. As she's not another slick, smooth-talking incumbent RINO politician, I'm more inclined to accept her answer to Glenn as blathering from an average citizen seeking political office, than as a conspiracy nut trying to cover her tracks. I'm also more inclined to accept her follow-up statement that she's not a Truther until seeing or hearing hard evidence to the contrary. Regardless, not voting for Medina does not compel me to pull the lever for RINOs Hutchison and Perry in this critical time in Texas and American history.
MORE OF THE SAME OLD BULLSH!T is not the answer.

Medina says a lot of things. I think that Medina is a liar.
Explain why she thinks no Police Officers died in the Towers on 9/11.
> Lame lie comparing Medina to Brown Listen Sasquatch, When you start off your now-deleted post by calling me a LIAR, yes, that is going to piss me off ... especially when you misfired your barbs before you even pulled them from your quiver. Apology accepted. If you're not spamming, I apologize for that too. Here's a token of my affection on this Valentine's Day Now that all of the niceties and mutual bullsh!t is out of the way, please sell me on the virtues of voting for RINOs Perry or Hutchison. I've not read ANY here yet!

You have been here supporting Medina not looking for reasons to vote for others.
Explain why she thinks no Police Officers died in the Towers on 9/11.
>I’m sure some showed up with their truthy-anti-war stuff, but they were vastly outnumbered by true conservatives>
You know it. Many of those who were in DC were Vets or have relatives currently serving in the war.
They wouldn’t put up for a minute with the anti war - Truther Ron PaulBot signs.
Not fighting for Rinos....fighting against making same mistakes liberals did voting for an unknown.
That was what you imposed on me. Suggesting I was for any of the three running. I am not providing support for any of em due their lack of conservative records ACROSS THE BOARD.
Albeit I will hit the R on election day or we suffer a D dick tater in Texas.
Yes I told you I was pulling the post as it was my error .... I corrected my error and apologized to you for such a mistake on my part . You can dwell on it or not but I am against putting an unknown in higher political office such as that we argue about today.
I WANT it all for conservative values. What I will get is reality. No one gets all they want from a polidiot.
But I will not vote or sponsor those who have no record of conservative values.
Even Palin.....my hope for change is pissing me off with her BS support of McCaniac Inc and his like. But she is best I see right now.
There ya have it....... I called you a liar based on something I thought I read. I made a mistake, reading the NY-23 etc and apologized for it. I will apologize when I am wrong.
Stay safe ........
LOL

Eminent domain bill among 49 Perry vetoed
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/special/07/legislature/4895077.html
AUSTIN An eminent domain bill that opponents said could shut down road construction was among 49 bills vetoed Friday by Gov. Rick Perry.
> lower property taxes
I pay my Texas Taxes. I can tell you UNEQUIVOCALLY that they gone up, not down.
> the 10 Amendment
Why the hell did Perry have to wait until 2010 he's being re-elected before realizing he already has the 10th Amendment protecting Texas’ Sovereignty? He should invoke it RIGHT THIS MINUTE as the CURRENT Texas Executive!!!
> fiscal matters
Texas’ debt has TRIPLED since Perry's been in office to $33 Billion today. Without raising taxes, it will take until 2047 to pay this off!
> and pretty good on border security
Have you been to Texas lately??!
Here's a crowd of 350,000 to 500,000 in Dallas on April 9, 2006,
marching for the rights of illegal immigrants.
Medina said that after she stepped in it on Glenn Beck's show. She couldn't answer a simple YES or NO question because she did not want to alientate her moonbat-truther support base. She has followed that up with even more outrageous comments that appeal to the moonbat side.
She has a proven track record of blind devotion to Ron Paul and his policies. Her candidacy is an attempt by the Paul Cult to get one of their own into an executive position.
That there is enough to get no vote from me. We don't need someone like that leading our great state, thank you very much.
> She has a proven track record of blind devotion to Ron
> Paul and his policies.
If that’s true, please post a link to that affect. I hear
references here, but nothing as SOLID as the RINO voting
record of Perry and Hutchison.
My daughter and I met Medina yesterday in person. I shook
her hand and talked to her staff. She did not seem like a
tin-foil-wearing Paul-bot to me in the slightest.
Nope, you're content to vote for Medina.
My father's property taxes have gone down and he owns a lot of land.
You do know about HCR 50 right?
Might want to read this as well.
I've said it before numerous times, as have most Texas conservatives on FR, I'm not a huge fan of Perry's, but he's the best we've got right now. I sincerely hope that someone like John Culberson or Ted Poe will throw his hat into the ring for the next go-round so that we can have a true conservative to support.
Medina Link Higher on Paul's Page than his Own Sons.
Statement from Gov. Rick Perry:
"Today's comments were an insult to the thousands of Americans who lost loved ones on 9/11 and the military men and women who are overseas protecting our country. President Bush worked tirelessly to protect our nation from additional terrorist attacks and anyone who would suggest 9/11 is a conspiracy involving the Bush administration should be ashamed."
Statement From Kay Bailey Hutchison Regarding Medina 9/11 Comments
"I know exactly who was responsible for the horrific attacks on September 11th - Al Qaeda terrorists who declared war on America. To suggest otherwise is an affront to the men and women who are sacrificing their lives to root out the terrorists in Afghanistan and around globe. Ever since that tragic day, I have fought tirelessly to ensure that we hunted down the Islamic extremists who target our nation. No one stood closer to President Bush and Vice President Cheney in their efforts to defeat the terrorist threat to our freedom."
Missed pinging you in my# 91.
94.
Sigh .....
I have confidence that you have the intelligence to do this yourself (perhaps the desire is what is lacking?)
Medina's speech after the Texas Republican Convention 2008.
This article gets interesting around the third paragraph.
There is plenty more, if you are willing to do the research.
My daughter and I met Medina yesterday in person. I shook her hand and talked to her staff. She did not seem like a tin-foil-wearing Paul-bot to me in the slightest.
I'm sure she was very pleasant, but one brief meeting in a campaign setting doesn't provide any real insight. I was a volunteer floor usher at the 1992 Republican Convention in Houston and shook many hands. Just for one example, I shook Arnold Schwarzenegger's hand. He was very pleasant, and from that I couldn't tell that he was a pro-immigration RINO.
Thanks for teaming up with me, bro. ;-)
Gee, I bet most people who met Jeffrey Dahmer didn't think he wanted to eat them either.
But he did and she is.
No matter what we post it will be ignored by the Medinabots but GMTA!
