Texas Gubernatorial candidate Debra Medina spoke to an enthusiastic Kingwood Tea Party crowd in far-northeast Houston Saturday interested in hearing her plans to reform the Lone Star State. Medina made no reference about her Glenn Beck interview. However, the 20 or so random people with whom this reporter spoke before and after her speech seemed to accept Medinas follow-up response released by her campaign a couple of hours after the Thursday morning radio interview. As Char with Texans for Nullification Today said, If you go back and look at the radio transcript, when Glenn asked if she believed the government was involved in bringing down the World Trade Centers, Medinas first two words were, I dont. If shes guilty of anything, its for being verbose and not using a teleprompter. The Tea Partiers seemed to be far more concerned about the possibility of having to elect the lesser of two evils, incumbent Gov. Rick Perry or Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, as the next state Governor. Medina pounded on hot button topics such as Perrys support of the mandatory HPV vaccination, the Trans Texas Corridor and his support of state college tuition rates for illegal immigrants, as well as Hutchisons support of the Federal Bailouts, Amnesty for illegal immigrants and pro-abortion rights. State Sovereignty was a reoccurring theme in Medinas speech. Many of you stand with me in saying enough is enough. Weve had enough tyranny and corruption from our federal government, she said. From refusing to recognize Roe v Wade in Texas, to keeping the EPA off the backs of Texans, Medina was emphatic in her refusal to allow illegal Federal actions if she were governor. Although Medina said she would be willing to support a Texas Resolution declaring State Sovereignty, she said she didnt see the need to do so, as Texas currently has the right under the Tenth Amendment now a governor with the courage to stand up and say no to the Federal government is all thats needed.
Illegal immigration was another topic that met the approval of the Tea Party crowd. When you cross the Texas border, youre on private property. You are welcome to our state, but you need to go through the gate, not the river. She indicated that because the Federal government is not meeting its obligation to properly enforcing the international border, she would be compelled to communicate her intensions to the Mexican government, while building up and eventually deploying the Texas National Guard to seal the Texas-Mexico border. Medinas passion on Gun Rights and a balanced Budget resonated with the Tea Partiers, as she pointed out the record of opponents Perry and Hutchison. We need to elect citizen leaders, not more of the status quo, she said. As Texas is currently $33 billion in debt, triple of what Perry inherited when he first took office, it would take until 2047 to pay that debt off. At the state and federal level, government must end its insatiable appetite to spend our childrens money. |
Upon reflection of a THIRD 4-year term of RINO Rick Perry, or letting RINO Kay Bailey sit at the governor's mansion, I am willing to accept Medina's answer is that she is not a Truther. She says she's not, and I believe her.
After listening to her today in person myself, it's clear that an outsider who is dedicated to restoring Texas Sovereignty instead of letting Obama and the Federal government run Texas as they've been running DC the last year is needed. We cannot afford Perry or Hutchison to run Texas into the ground more than they already have. Their records speaks VOLUMES! I'm done compromising with RINOs!
As Medina said today, "a rising tide lifts all boats". If a Texas governor stands up for the State's 10th Amendment rights, other States will follow. It's CLEAR that Perry and Hutchison will NOT get us there, as they've proven time and time again.
But I think Medina can get us there and restore Texas to being the strongest State in the republic. |

In her news conference Friday, it is clear Medina was trying to clean up the mess. But in our interview with her hours after the Beck radio show, she repeated there are still questions that need to be answered.
On Friday, she told reporters she is curious why no New York City police officers died in the towers when so many firefighters did.
!!!!!
That's not true, however, as 60 police officers were killed.
She continued in the interview to say there were valid questions and did not disavow Trutherism.
She is trying to rewrite history.
Check out Post #3 on this thread for another amusing installment of Medina-moonbattery.

The second interview took place AFTER the interview with Glenn Beck, so she had plenty of time to “adjust” her thinking, but she went on to utter even more inflamatory nonsense. I think she’s proved she’s a kook or a Truther, if you will.
> I think shes proved shes a kook or a Truther, if you will.
I disagree. She’s not a polished turd like Perry and Hutchison,
but she has clarified her statement and without the use of
a teleprompter.
OTOH, Perry and Hutchison have proven they have accepted the hoax
that Federal government can usurp Texas State Sovereignty.
Sorry to hear anyone here bashing Medina is okay with that theory,
conspiracy or otherwise.
I just watched both of the videos and she is truly her own worst enemy! And clearly from the 10 minute video she lies when she says she is not a Truther or a Birther. Her answers prove she is both.
I don’t particularly like Gov goodhair, but there is no way I can vote for a Paul-bot.
I am going by her words. I read your post. You saw her in person and you’ve elected to believe her and you reside in Texas. I most certainly don’t begrudge you your opinion or candidate choice. I think you know I respect you and value your friendship. We will disagree on this candidate. It’s as simple as that.
Interesting! I didn’t watch both videos, so thank you for your report. Maybe I’ll watch the second one tomorrow. It’s too late right now! Yikes.
It will be interesting to see if she can come back from that mess.
Sorry to hear that you and that woman think so little of America, President Bush, the military and everyone else that you think murdered all those people.
Someone interviewed said the first two words out of her mouth in respponse to the question were “I don”t”.
Well now, isn’t that convenient to describe the context of this exchange from the transcript;
(snip)
BECK: Do you believe the government was any way involved with the bringing down of the world trade centers on 9/11?
MEDINA: I, I don’t, I don’t have all the evidence there, Glenn, so I don’t, I, I’m not in a place, I have not been out publicly, uh, questioning that, I think some very good questions have been raised in that regard, uh, there’s some very good arguments and I think the American people have not seen all the evidence there, so I’ve not taken a position on that. (snip)
Just quit the contortionistic excuses, please. She got caught flat footed with a very simple and direct question and, oops, the truth slipped out because Beck got her off her scripted talking points earlier in the interview.
Medina = Epic Paulbot Fail
Paulbots do not trust the Federal Government. At all.
Well, that in itself as a general position isn’t necessarily bad, but it’s when you start to pick it apart and see how it translates to policy is when it starts to get nutty (at best) and dangerous (at worst).
Jeepers! Where are any non-Truther candidates?
Do I have to move to Texas to run as a Conservative for Governor?
