Dick Armey campaigned with Kay Bailey Hutchison in Brownwood, Lubbock and Amarillo. The former Majority Leader, who represented Texas' 26th district, was a leading figure in the 1994 Republican Revolution and the Contract with America. He currently serves as the Chairman of FreedomWorks and is a leader in the TEA Party movement.

I thought oil and water didn’t mix??
weird...
It’s interesting to watch who is lining up with whom in this race. I wish I knew the reasons. I’ve never understood why KBH would take on Perry, who has been quite a popular governor and in her own party, to boot.
Rino’s of feather...stick together.
Sickening to see how the beltway repubs are supporting KBH. They always band together,,, the repubs really do need a big ol’ enema this year. Good for their health,,,
Does Dick Armey have a certain affinity for illegal aliens like Kay?
She’s “entitled”—it’s “her turn.” I detest this attitude in politics. She wants to live in Texas and Be Very Important and wear elegant suits out in public. Thing is, being governor of a huge state is hard work, and KBH is not used to it.
I am glad I never liked him much. Very disappointing.
Feds Have Built Only 32 Miles of 700 Mile Double-Border Fence Originally Mandated by Congress One reason DHS has been able to do this is an amendment that Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R.-Texas) slipped into an omnibus appropriations bill that Congress passed on December 18, 2007. Hutchisons amendment put a loophole in the fence law that allowed the secretary of Homeland Security not to build the fence Congress had mandated the year before.

Media ad:
Who is going to think more about Latino families? Rick Perry, Kay Bailey Hutchison or me, who has a Latino family? (Medinas cultural heritage is German and Bohemian.)
She told a colleague last month in an e-mail. Being married, however, to someone with a Mexican American heritage, I certainly embrace the culture. But before she explained that, she told my colleage, who had asked her whether she considers herself Latina: Id not consider myself anything other than a wife and mother, a nurse and a patriot. I believe we too often get into race when its immaterial.
No, Thanks, Mrs Medina.
She is also running Spanish ads. Hello Mrs.Medina! If they cannot speak English then they have no business voting IMO. When they learn English then let them vote. Assimilate. Learn English. Appreciate all America gives you.
So Im sure she is blowing a lot of hot air just like Obama did just to get elected. Running those ads and saying what she has, tells me the border issue is just a try to get votes for herself.
No, thanks, Ill stick with ol RINO Perry. Texas has remained in better shape than almost any if not all of the states in the union under Perry's watch. As someone said, 'he's the devil we know'.
The motly crew running for governor is laughable; a MUSLIM, a trecherous RINO woman* (Hutchison) and a woman with questionable loyalties
.
I’m also puzzled about the endorsements for KBH, and I have a hypothesis.
I don’t like her, and I don’t trust her, and I never have. I don’t like Perry, and I don’t trust him, either. I did at one time — voted for him, and likely will again this spring.
However, he’s crooked. We Texans have watched him sell us out to Cintra, Merck, no telling how many other deep pockets.
This is a race with no good candidates. Shame on us. We could do so much better.
I think the endorsements we’re seeing from Bush 41 and Armey have to do with character. Of the two, sad to say, KBH may be the most honest, and I think they know it.
Whatever your political opinions of the Bushes or Armey, they are straight shooters, people of character. Sure, they’ve made mistakes, but these are fundamentally good human beings who have tried to walk the straight and narrow.
I think they know that Perry isn’t. And that Hutchison is the lesser of the evils.
Again, just my theory.
(Yes, I said I will likely vote for Perry. It has to do with redistricting from the 2010 census, nothing more. I see proper redistricting as absolutely critical. We must elect a Republican legislature and governor. Perry stood firm in 2003, and I think he will do it again for his own political benefit. I trust him more on that one vital issue.)
“Armey...currently serves as the Chairman of FreedomWorks and is a leader in the TEA Party movement.”
He’s a ‘leader’ in the Tea Party movement...according to him.
It’s a mistake to let Dick Armey claim any fame because of this. He’s an open border/amnesty hack. Which is probably why he supports Kay Bailey...just like Bush.
“He [Armey]also has a more liberal view of immigration than many in his party. Reagan went to Berlin and said, Tear down this wall, Armey said. We went to San Diego and said, Build a fence. It was just stupid. You have Hispanics saying, Im not going to vote for those guys because they dont like me.”
” More and more these days, immigrants are being viewed as if they were the source of Americas problems. It seems the old Malthusian notion that people are a drain is making one of its regular revivals
Anti-immigration has always been ironic, because throughout our history newcomers have been a source of strength, not weakness. America still attracts the worlds best talent. And surely that is no liability. Think of it. We can avail ourselves of much of the worlds intellectual wealth simply by opening our doors The impulse to limit immigration is really a manifestation of the protectionist impulse. And its misguided.”
During the 2006 immigration debate, Armey referred to anti-immigrant xenophobe, former Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-CO), as the cheerleader of jerkiness in the immigration debate. Armey has proposed privatizing the US immigration system to allow in immigrants who love liberty and are willing to obey the law.
Nonetheless, Armeys immigration views are probably motivated more by his pocket book than the goodness of his heart. A few months ago, Think Progress reported that corporate lobbyists were playing a big role in orchestrating tea party protests. That might help explain why Armeys FreedomWorks was one of the few right wing organizations to support comprehensive immigration reform in 2006. Curiously, his lobbying firm was simultaneously representing the Senado de Republica (Mexican Senate) on enhancing U.S.-Mexico relations, specifically on immigration policy.

“Does Dick Armey have a certain affinity for illegal aliens like Kay?”
Oh, yes!

Never underestimate the willingness of a RINO to sell out for some “special purpose.” Newt supports Scozzafava to pacify the party bosses, hoping it might lead to a place on the 2012 ticket. Armey’s purpose?? We’ll know, sooner or later.
