Why do left wing radicals denounce intolerance unless it’s against something they support? How come it’s acceptable to dehumanize only certain people, beliefs and organizations?
Just recently radio talk show commentator Rush Limbaugh was rushed to the hospital for chest pains. As I searched for news regarding his condition, I was appalled by the comments posted by other readers. The venomous words used to express their distain for his existence were simply horrific. Although disturbed by what I read it certainly comes as no surprise as it seems Conservative bashing has become widely accepted by the Left.
Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachman and Ann Coulter are prime examples and targets of liberal attacks; however when Bill O’Rielly commented about Helen Thomas you would have thought he had insulted Mother Theresa. The double standard of what is considered humorous and objective is extremely skewed. In fact, most are just down right mean spirited and foul. In order to be fair and objective, I also take issue when conservatives engage in these practices.
I wish that the very same people that seek to destroy Glenn Beck would have the same passion for destroying Osama Bin Laden. I would like to hear the same people that say Reverend Wright and Bill Ayers are activists agree that Sean Hannity and Mark Levin are commentators not messengers of hate. It would be nice to have these people be as irate when Michelle Malkin is attacked, as they are when Hillary Clinton is criticized. Ultimately I would love to believe the Obama Administration is as passionate about fighting terrorism and enforcing the Patriot Act as they are in eliminating Fox News and supporting the Fairness Doctrine. Once again I must admit none of these will ever happen even though this is change I can believe in.

Well, Newbie, you've pretty much outed yourself with that one. What Obama has done correctly? There's a large segment here that believes he's illegitimate. What he does is illegitimate. It's kind of like illegal-aliens. They break the law coming here, why should we recognize anything of worth while here? Consider Hitler. He, along with Stalin are the embodiment of evil. Yet Hitler loved his dog. Should we think kindly of him because of that?
If you want to back Obama you'd best find another forum to join. You won't be very welcome here. Obama is an infiltrator, a communist and a dictator. He's using his time up front to change America forever. If you believe even insignificant personal traits override that, then you're a screwball.
Oh, and the reasons I gave for our beliefs and feelings about Obama are a far cry from the hatred shown by the left for a person they hate who has illness or misfortune in life. There's a big disconnect between the two positions, one which you, apparently, can't fathom. WOW! You belong with your leftist buddies. Begone!

My gripe about Libertarians is they often claim conservatism, but only on fiscal issues.
On social issues they are much closer to anarchists.
Hubby was a libertarian in HS, he says he became a conservative in college because he grew up.

Sometimes I’ll go to DU to see if they’re discussing some really controversial thing that really looks bad for dems or obama, but they never do.
I’m constantly amazed at the mindless drivel posts that most of them put up. There’s virtually no discussion of the topic, just one-liners laced with profanity.
Few people on that site seem capable of posting more than two coherent sentences in a row.
It gives a really interesting look into the liberal mindset.

I didn't even dignify the "Tactical Nukes" comment with a reply.
Ten years ago, I managed to explain the idiocy of considering nuclear weapons in a tactical environment to my (at the time) preadolescent nephew. However, I don't think I would have much success with our little friend.
CSA Rebel later said that Obama was correct when he expanded the Gulf war into Yemen. I called him on the fact that, with the constrictive Rules of Engagement, this will kill more US troops.
He countered by argueing for the use of tactical nuclear weapons.
