Yes, he was also in a TV series, Laredo which aired from 1965-1967. It starred Carey, Neville Brand, Peter Brown, and Will Smith. Carey played Captain Parmalee. Great show, great cast.
And of course he was fantastic in the Prisoner-one of my all time favorite TV shows. They don’t even come close to making shows like that anymore.
A good yearly necrology is at http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=necrology&necYear=2009
Among the ones I noticed:
Arnold Strang, the voice of Top Cat. He was also a character actor, and played the photographer in Dennis the Menace, as well as a lot of other bit parts.
Soupy Sales
John Hughes. He wrote or directed the original Vacation, all the “Brat Pack” movies, Uncle Buck, Home Alone, Ferris Bueller, and quite a few other movies.
Wasn't he the second most highly decorated soldier of WW2?
Yes, and as I recall the shows were on Sunday, 6 pm central standard time I believe.
I have taken to reading the UK papers before US papers anymore.
Had quite a few golden records.

Yes, it was 6:00 P.M. Sunday central time. I almost wrote that on my post but wasn’t 100% certain.
Actually those old Disney shows may have been the best TV ever. They still hold up well today. There were a lot of them set in Scotland which is odd since Disney is Portuguese I think.
He was an accomplished fencer even prior to his acting career.

Prayers and thoughts to you my friend.
My Father Aug. 19, 1926 Dec. 15, 2006
Your description made me smile, you described my Father to tee
We were blessed to have such Fathers.
Ron Silver was an intelligent actor and a Hollywood Jewish lefty. Then came 9/11. Ever since he was a valiant anti-jihadi activist becoming more of a conservative on more political issues from then until his death.
Wow. There’s couple on that list I missed.
Soupy Sales?
“I took my wife to the baseball game last night. We’re so in love! I kissed her between the strikes and she kissed me between the balls.”
He’s in my favorite version of A Christmas Carol - he plays the ghost of Christmas Present. He does a great job.
Good link. Yeah, that’s a pretty comprehensive list!
I noticed some pretty big names left off the original poster’s list. James Whitmore, for example.
Also, I see that Frank Costanza died on March 11. RIP.
I feel bad for Groucho Marx, he died the day before Elvis Presley.
mware, which pilot did Woodward's son play?
