It hurts to lose your dad. Mine has been gone for 30 years and my heart still aches for him.

So it doesn't go away? My dad has been gone fifteen years. I told a friend of mine to hug his parents and tell them he loves them, since I can't do the same to my dad.

I posted something like, "He's in good company, my Mom just went up there yesterday", and got a whole lot of comforting condolences

I remember you posting that because it was the same day my Grand Aunt Sally died.

Not an 'actor' but quite a 'character':

Ormly Gumfudgin, aka, Clarence "Googy" Locke, friend of many actors, Hollywood columnist, chili cookoff organizer, Bazooka player extraordinaire and all around interesting personality.

No, it never goes away but God is good and we have our memories.

I remember something that CS Lewis once said, The joy we share now is part of the pain we will feel later.

He nailed that one.

I remember Patrick McGoohan as the warden in “Escape From Alcatraz”, and he played Longshanks in “Braveheart”. Hard to believe it was the same guy, but the voice is unmistakeable.

My favorite Karl Malden roll was Omar Bradley in Patton with George C. Scott.

Funny how some peoples death who are not relatives or even folks we know affect us.

I felt that way when Jimmy Stewart died.

The world seemed a little sadder that first Christmas after he died.

James Stewart was/is my favorite actor. I loved seeing the clips of him on the Dean Martin Variety SHow (found them on youtube). He was hilarious.

Yeap, that music stirs the soul

The theme music from Piece Of Cake (Battle of Britain)was great too.

Bit of trivia but Edward Woodward's eldest son played one of the pilots in that mini series.

He was great in those pictures but he hit his stride playing Oil Billionaire Asa Buchanan, he made J.R. Ewing look like a piker. Asa operated World Wide. Boy I miss him and that soap from years past.
