President Obama’s Chance for Easy Victory over the “Birthers” (with poll)
Eye On The Law ^ | 12-12-09 | Jeffrey Nichols

Posted on 12/12/2009 3:02:19 PM PST by STARWISE

This office offers no opinion on the merits of the controversy regarding President Obama’s eligibility to hold office. Instead, we wonder why the President hasn’t put an end to the controversy.

Amidst all the speculation, conspiracy theories, and lawsuits surrounding President Obama’s original birth certificate, one obvious and valid question seems to stand out no matter which side of the debate one is on: why doesn’t he just produce it? (And why hasn’t anyone asked him this?)

The President has fought production of his original birth certificate in numerous lawsuits. In one, a U.S. Army Reserve major from Florida argued that his order to deploy to Afghanistan was potentially illegal because the President’s eligibility to hold office has not been confirmed.

Instead of confronting the issue directly, the military revoked the soldier’s deployment orders. These facts have added considerable fuel to the ongoing suspicion and debate.

Everyone appears to agree that President Obama’s original birth certificate (not the short-form Certificate of Live Birth that has been produced) would end the controversy and the lawsuits and quiet the so-called “birthers” once and for all.

Are we missing something here?

We want to hear from you. Please explain below why you think President Obama has not produced or should not produce his original birth certificate. Please vote to the left.

You couldn’t be more wrong.

An AOL Poll asks the question: “Do you think it’s fair to question President Obama’s citizenship?”

At 6 AM, on 12/6/09, the results were: 67% “Yes” — 33% “No” — and this is AOL, hardly a conservative website.

That’s some fringe — AOL visitors, by a factor of two-to-one, believe Obama should release his bona fides and end the controversy.

YouPolls.com has taken down their December 4th poll that asks the question, “Is Obama’s birth certificate a valid question.” Obviously, they didn’t like the respondents’ answers — 83% “Yes” — 17% “No.”

YouPolls.com is still running the one asking, “Is Obama a one term President?” — 94? “Yes — 5.7% “No” — expect that one to disappear soon.

An October 23rd item reported that three-in-ten Americans think their current head of state was not born in the United States, according to a poll by Angus Reid Strategies. That’s almost a third of all Americans.

Now, Goddard’s Political Wire points to a new Public Policy Polling survey in Arkansas shows that only 45% of voters in the state say they believe Obama was born in this country, while 31% say they think he was not and 24% are unsure.

“Arkansas is the first of four states where we’ve polled the birther issue (Virginia, North Carolina, and Colorado were the others) and found less than half of respondents confident that Obama is a natural born citizen. The numbers are particularly dramatic among Republicans with 49% saying Obama was not born here to just 23% who grant that he was.”

Yet....Ann Coulter used the KKK as an example to imply that “birthers” were so few in number they would be the size of a KKK parade.

That is one woman who will **NEVER** get another dime of mine!

If you believe that online polls have credibility it explains why you are a birther, I just hope you don’t publicly state your ideas and discredit yourself and in the process discredit opposition to Obama.

This is my website:

“The United States Library of Congress has selected TheObamaFile.com for inclusion in its historic collection
of Internet materials.”

I don't rely on the opinion of some never-done-nothing, never-been-anywhere, incapable of structuring a proper sentence, Obot.

Because he doesn't have to.

ought-six ~ ObaMugabe seems a tad effeminate, doesn’t he?

Vendome ~ Limp wristed sissy.

I seriously think his birth certificate lists him either as a girl or hermaphrodite.

All your links prove is that Obama's campaign spent money on lawyers, as all campaigns do.

You have absolutely no proof that a dime of that money was spent on legal services related to birther lawsuits.

So it could be 5M for all we know.

Sure. Making up numbers is fun, isn't it?

Even though the information has been shoved up your nose,

The only "information" you birthers provide is the the Obama campaign spent money on lawyers. You then take the total amount they spent on lawyers and assume that it was all spent on birther lawsuits.

You completely neglect the fact that all campaigns have legal expenses. You have absolutely no evidence that any of the money spent on lawyers had anything with birther lawsuits.

with lawyers at a cost over $1.4M.

Unless you can provide a source for this number, which you can't, I must assume you pulled it directly out of your ass, which you did.

Let see—the government is completely controlled by Democrats, your site has been selected by the Library of Congress for inclusion as what: an example of what they hope historians will describe as typical opposition to Obama? I rest my case!
