In a stunning blow to the impartiality of the American Judicial system, Federal Judge David O. Carter, who is hearing the case Barnett vs. Obama, in the Central District, Southern Division Court at Santa Ana, California, has just hired a lawyer who works for a law firm where Robert F. Bauer, one of Obamas top lawyers is a partner. And that, just days before the Oct. 5, 2009 hearing on the Motion to Dismiss, in which his demeanor radically changed, according to Dr. Orly Taitz, esq., lead counsel for the Plaintiffs.
Siddharth Velamoor is the lawyer chosen by Carter to serve as one of his two official clerks, from Oct. 1, 2009, till Sept. 30, 2010, according to Wikipedia. Velamoor is listed as an associate with Perkins Coie, LLPs office in Seattle, Washington. It is not clear if he has broken his relations with the firm.
C, is a partner of Perkins Coie, LLPs office in Washington, D.C.. His bio at the company identifies him as holding the Chair of the Political Law group at the firm; general counsel to Obamas Campaign for America and general counsel to the Democratic National Committee.
Mr. Bauers wife is none other than Anita Dunn, the Whitehouse Communications Director.

now why does columbia university being on his list NOT surprise me?
Did you notice from my last post:
Comenius University School of Law, Bratislava, Slovakia, 2008
If Velamoor specialises in Product Liability, I don’t see why Carter should let him anywhere near the Orly case. Hope not anyway.
now why does Columbia University being on his list NOT surprise me? Did you notice from my last post? Yes I did. Now WHY would Siddharth Velamoor who just was hired as a clerk for Judge Carter in October and is coincidentally a partner with Perkins Coie LLP (general counsel for Obama & the DNC) show attendance at different colleges? Is the judge even aware of this relationship? I suspect there are inconsistencies with Velamoor's resume when he applied with Judge Carter for this one-year term, too. http://pview.findlaw.com/view/4073288_1?channel=CCC -VS- http://www.martindale.com/Siddharth-Velamoor/33735949-lawyer.htm
Additionally... Hmmm... |
The guy is a junior associate at a very large law firm in which one partner in a diffeeent office represents Obama. The rules of judicial ethics provide that, if this associate didn't work on any of Obama's cases (which seems likely, as he works in the products liabilty department, not the election law department), there is no conflict; if he did work on one of Obama's cases, he cannot work as a clerk on Orly's case against Obama (Carter has two clerks, so the other one can work on that case), but Carter is not disqualified.
I will nonetheless bet that, if orly loses the motion to dismiss, she will try to get Carter disqualified on this basis (and will lose that motion, too).
How many people with his name are lawyers???
There is one listed here as a student at Columbia.

> of all the people he could choose to hire..he chooses this one??????
It may be that the Judge is not fully aware of this relationship ...
depending on WHAT Velamoor placed on his resume.

NOTE: Students must be in full-time residence at the Law School for the entire academic year in order to be eligible for honors. Grades earned in courses taken outside Columbia Law School (e.g., other divisions of the University, NYU Law School as part of the CLS-NYU Exchange program, other law schools while a visiting student, study abroad programs) will not be factored into honors calculations.
So the insinuation is that this lawyer lied on his resume to be a mole on this case?
So the insinuation is that this lawyer lied on his resume to be a mole on this case? Good job, Sherlock you broke the case. You forgot to add that it was all planned before Ann's conception back in Kansas. < /sarc> Come on ... YOU tell me ... If YOU had plaintiffs in a high-profile case against a CORRUPT politician ... And the judge just hired a young attorney to be a clerk who just so-happens to be a junior partner for a law firm
What would YOU do if you saw THIS inconsistency? |
Clerks deleted because of attack on website? ROFLMAO!!!
So then what’s the story with that? That he lied on his resume to Coie?
Call him out then. Either he lied, or either Thomson or LexNex’s databases aren’t up to date.
or either Thomson or LexNexs databases arent up to date. How can it be OUT OF DATE?! then a J.D. from BOTH:
|
So what exactly is going on, in your estimation?
Are you going to call him out on this discrepancy?
BTW, I didn’t say out of date, I said up to date.
It’s not like there aren’t any discrepancies between LexisNexis and Westlaw, or plenty of other databases on the internet.
But then again, if this is just another part of the conspiracy, you should expose it.
Orly’s aware of it. I don’t know about the Judge Carter yet. Obviously, if the information goes THROUGH his clerks ... well ... the judge may not find out. Kind of like Pickle in the SCOTUS clerk’s office last year, filtering information to the Justices. But word will get to Judge Carter, if he doesn’t already know by now ... That said, this is also one of those things that a shrewd attorney may use AT THE RIGHT TIME ... like right when the US Attorney’s office says or does something that smacks of collusion just heap on some more. Orly’s getting a lot of good advice ... but ultimately it’s up to her if she uses that advice appropriately ... |
obumpa
Yeah, except that it isn't.
Federal law clerks are hired at least a year in advance, sometimes longer -- so this one was almost certainly hired before the election and well before Keyes v. Obama was filed in Carter's court.
This individual has an impressive academic record and at least two years of summer internship at a top law firm. A good candidate for a busy federal judge's clerk.
The Slovakian Law School is very likely a goof by Findlaw, since "Comenius" is close to "Columbia" alphabetically.
It's that simple, except in the fevered brains of conspiracy theorists.
I think you and freeper lucymom (different thread I think) are on the same wavelength wrt:time line.
I never said it was a conspiracy, don’t have a clue that there is one. Howver those who edited wiki to delete the names of clerk, admitted they think that others think it’s a conspiracy. I personally think it’s a very ODD hiring...and what a coincidence eh?
Conspiracy theories, well I don’t think so in this case. There’s no way a former assoc of obama’s law firm would have a conflict of interest. :-p
