I saw a South Carolina license tag today and it had a cresent on the tag. Is this catering to muslims? See the images below.

That crescent moon is on the Ft Moultrie Flag.
In 1775, Col. William Moultrie designed a flag for his South Carolina militia.It was a blue flag that matched the color of his troops uniforms and a crescent that reproduced the silver emblem worn on the front of their caps.
"LIBERTY" represents the SC colonial troops' defense of the palmetto-log fort on Sullivan's Island against the British on June 28, 1776.
