That crescent moon is on the Ft Moultrie Flag.

In 1775, Col. William Moultrie designed a flag for his South Carolina militia.It was a blue flag that matched the color of his troops uniforms and a crescent that reproduced the silver emblem worn on the front of their caps.

"LIBERTY" represents the SC colonial troops' defense of the palmetto-log fort on Sullivan's Island against the British on June 28, 1776.

Hm, "William Moultrie" sounds suspiciously Muslim to me.

Did one of them create the Colorado flag as well?
