Sarah Palin: Statement on the Current Health Care Debate
facebook ^ | Aug. 7, 2009 | Sarah Palin

Posted on 08/07/2009 1:45:04 PM PDT by Al B.

As more Americans delve into the disturbing details of the nationalized health care plan that the current administration is rushing through Congress, our collective jaw is dropping, and we’re saying not just no, but hell no!

The Democrats promise that a government health care system will reduce the cost of health care, but as the economist Thomas Sowell has pointed out, government health care will not reduce the cost; it will simply refuse to pay the cost. And who will suffer the most when they ration care? The sick, the elderly, and the disabled, of course. The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama’s “death panel” so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their “level of productivity in society,” whether they are worthy of health care. Such a system is downright evil.

Health care by definition involves life and death decisions. Human rights and human dignity must be at the center of any health care discussion.

Rep. Michele Bachmann highlighted the Orwellian thinking of the president’s health care advisor, Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, the brother of the White House chief of staff, in a floor speech to the House of Representatives. I commend her for being a voice for the most precious members of our society, our children and our seniors.

We must step up and engage in this most crucial debate. Nationalizing our health care system is a point of no return for government interference in the lives of its citizens. If we go down this path, there will be no turning back. Ronald Reagan once wrote, “Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we’ll ever see on this earth.” Let’s stop and think and make our voices heard before it’s too late.

woman of Virtue,
cries over the infertile
souls; lost and listless

clutches her country
like her children, fed at breast...
vision beyond jeers...

she fears Great Alpha,
and Omega; save our land
restore our vision!

My jaw dropped when I read this.

I agree, and the fight is truely "to the death", as Patrick Henry said.

One thing for sure....our check books need to be wide open to fight the evil forces who are currently in power

Sarah is the real deal...we need to support her.

Glory, hallelujah! That’s our Sarah America!

And she even zinged Rahm Emanuel indirectly.

“Rommel, you magnificent b*stard, I read YOUR BOOK!”
- Patton

Wait, I may have misspelled and misattributed.

“Rahmel, you magnificent b*stard, I read YOUR BOOK!”
- Palin

There, fixed it.

Government programs, once launched, never disappear.

It was a humorous truism, but, in my opinion, we should ask ourselves "why?"

After all, alleged Republicans were in charge of all three branches of government for some time.

I'm wondering if anyone can tell me one government program or agency that Republicans did away with when they had the power to do so.

Hence, my new tagline...

Whiney! Whiney?

You’ve got a problem with Sarah Palin using Facebook
and Myspace to rally the opposition, but no problem
when Obama uses the same communication strategy?

I’m lookin’ at your profile and you’re what... maybe
twelve years old? Come back when you’re an adult!

“How will MSNBC react to this I wonder?”

Chris Matthews will call her a racist, again.

But as a "statement" from one who wants to portray herself as a party leader, it's sadly inadequate.

You conveniently ignore the fact that she's just a private citizen now, with no active role in the political process and no concrete plans on her future. If she would have came out with a detailed statement or analysis, the attention would have returned back to her instead of the ordinary American citizens in opposition. Once again, Palin is putting regular Americans ahead of her, with this excellent strategy of submitting, the equivalent of a letter to a newspaper.

My point about her quoting Thomas Sowell.

Five paragraphs on a Facebook page. Politics the Britney Spears way!

Excellent strategy of not making herself the story though. She doesn't want to draw media coverage away of their hypocritical coverage of the ordinary citizens opposing Obamacare. Too bad you don't recognize the fact that Palin has excellent political instincts.

If she ever does, she would probably quote Reagan: “There you go again” or something like that. :)

You are wrong. It is very well written. With this little piece released on Facebook, she’s added the term “death panel” to the national discourse on this subject. It’s simple and to the point and easy for Drudge to use. Brilliant.

Nobody in the national spotlight for the GOP has the guts to speak this kind of truth about Obama, nobody. Newt comes close but I believe he would shy away from fighting words like "Obama's death panel", or calling the plan "evil".

"Clear and righteous" is a perfect description.
