Very Interesting: Who is the Military Loyal to?
notoriouslyconservative.com ^ | 07 31 09 | Notoriously Conservative

From our friends, Mark & Samantha :

A soldier's oath includes "... will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the president of the United States ... "

Now if Birthers can't prove his legitimacy to be the Commander-in-Chief, then I have a serious question. If the domestic enemy is the President due to his policies, czars, affiliations, agenda, etc. (look at the big picture), then would the military's true faith and allegiance be for the American people regardless of the orders of the president of the United States? What if the American people pleaded for the military to help us against this oppression? Where would their loyalties be?

“None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free.”

This raises some interesting questions. I would hope that the military would defend the constitution and the American people from any threat, including domestic powers that would seek to defile the constitution. That said, who makes that decision? Who has that power? Could use of that power, lead to abuse of that power? It is a very complicated scenario.

Thanks Mark & Samantha!

If it ever comes to “US” or “Them” you and I will be on the same side.

I am 61 and the things we are talking about are generally issues that young people solve, but in that event, whatever it takes. So be it.

We had the draft in the 1950s, even after the end of the Korean War.

This entire discussion underlines why the president and his government has taken the position it has in Honduras. The idea of the military ensuring that the constitution is not trashed sets an uneasy precident, don’t you think?

The real question is, even if some in the military decided to take Obama out of power how would they do that? How would they mobilize to take Obama into custody, and on who’s authority? I am sure that there are some who currently feel like he needs to be removed, while still others think he is a messiah. I think orders to depose Obama would have to come from somewhere like the Supreme Court or Congress, like it was done in Honduras. If it was done like it was in Argentina they would probably face the same fate as those soldiers. Too bad for Argentina that they caved in to world opinion.

The military’s oath is to uphold the Constitution, and defend “We The People” from tyranny.

Who will Obama’s “Civilian National Security Force” come from? ACORN and SEIU?

What is more amazing, is that while Hondurans fight to maintain their freedom, this administration is taking ours away. I never thought I would live to see these final days of our Republic being stripped away by a narcissistic megalomaniac Marxist commie, and his culture of corrupted Chicago thugs.

OK, I still think many believe the burden of proof, lies with the accusers.

How 'bout this scenario, which could happen tomorrow:

- Israel finalizes its plans to take out the Iranian nuke program.
- Netanyahu reveals his plan to Obama as a courtesy, as IAF flyers will need to overfly Iraq to get to their targets.
- Obama tells Netanyahu that he will order the USAF to shoot down any Israeli warplanes that violate Iraqi airspace.
- Bibi tells Zero to stuff it: he's giving the 'go' anyway.
- 24 hours later, IAF birds are in the air and approaching Iraq. Obama gives the shootdown order ...

Will our guys obey it?

Begs the question: will the military step in at some point to constrain Zero's brownshirts?

Unfortunately the military used to be the American People. Since the volunteer concept started and the draft ended in the 1970’s the military is a mercenary force - that is a problem. They are paid by the Government.

We have been a nation under the Constitution for 220 years. How many of those years has the draft been in effect?

38 years.

So your contention is that for 182 years our Nation's military has been a "mercenary force"?

You and your West Point father-in-law may think what you want, but if it comes between the People of the United States and the Constitution (a piece of paper), guess who wins?
