There's growing speculation from former aids, political journalists, and even Rush Limbaugh himself that Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is considering forming a third party alternative for conservatives. Palin, the former GOP vice presidential nominee who stunned the political world by resigning as governor two weeks ago with 18 months left in her term, also posted a link to a column speculating about such a move on her Facebook page. Two articles, one from conservative writer Tammy Bruce, the other from The Washington Times, suggest she may be considering leaving the Republican Party to form a third party alternative.
Radio show host Rush Limbaugh said Palin may leave the GOP and form her own because Republicans have "been just as mean-spirited to her as the Democrats" have. "When I watched her speech when she announced she was going to leave the governorship of Alaska, I didn't hear the word Republican mentioned once," Limbaugh said. - NewsMax

Yeah, Baby!
I have the perfect name for her new party . . .
The NO BULL MOOSE PARTY.
First off people should read the piece linked. It suggests Sarah is just a puppet of the GOP being used to re-allign it’s militarist posture in favor of libertarian thought. Among other things. Ron Paul conspiracy theorists.
Second of note I remember Ross Perot. He was in position to win. Until he jumped out of the race, than jumped back in again. Otherwise we might have seen how third parties can win. No, I didn’t favor Perot but its nonsense to forget he alone doomed his front runner status.
I would support a legit third party run if the person represented my values. SO far no one has. Sarah is the first person I believe I would support third party. I’m under no illusions a new party wouldn’t be prey to the same issues that have destroyed other parties. I’d just hope it would be 20-40 years down the road before that happened. I have no allegiance to the current parties. They have no allegiance to me. They are corrupt. Entrenched. And I’d welcome a legit third party shattering their status quo.
Then again, Sarah has said nothing about a third party so it’s merely fodder for gossip. But one thing I’m certain of, she’d be of a threat to take more then 5% of the national vote if she did.
It’ not like the Republican party has exhibited a candidate who could viably oppose her in the last seventeen years.
What I am coming up with is, they used to be really democrat before 1960 and in the 13 elections since 1960 they still voted against the republican nine times.
If you go back to 1936 it makes a total of 19 elections and them voting against the republicans 14 times.
And more importantly - with a longer history by centuries - mankind will always rely upon horses. And we will always need to buy ice to preserve food.
Right?
The Republican Party still has a chance, but it needs a backbone and stick to its principles. The principles of Conservatism.
It appears that the best possible leaders do not want to be in the fishbowl of politics. So we get a level of incompetent mediocre leadership or puppets with someone else pulling the strings.
But leadership needs an effective organization. Any candidate for President will have difficulty in putting together a new organization in a couple years (unless there is a Major issue like the Civil War). An organization is more than just one candidate. We need an organization with principles and the ability to develop people into leadership roles at the local, state and national level. We need the followers (us) to agree with certain key principles and work for the best interest of the nation and not selfish self serving interests.
Government is out of control and influenced by incompetence and corruption. The longer this goes on, the harder it will be to change it.
What did he say because he is one of the few republicans that has been pretty good about her.
“both”
Ironic that the GOP is done in by conservatism then.
They couldn’t fake it any longer.
There is no two party system—the Republcrats and the Demikins are to sides of the same debased coin. We need a reform party to change things. Maybe the very threat of a 3rd party will be enough to get the Republicans to stick up for their ideals.
I hope she remains let me be real clear a part of the Republican Party," Huckabee told FOX News. "I'm a little concerned when I hear her say that she may sort of branch out and go third party or go independent. That would be a big mistake because we need to rebuild the Republican Party, not abandon it.""
Sarah Palin NEVER said that.
Go, Palin, go! We need an AMERICAN Party!
You are right but he also said that he might get behind her. Huckabee is not her true enemy, he may or may not be a candidate but Mitt Romney will try to destroy her and any other conservative that stands in the way of his ambitions.
VAN SUSTEREN: Tell me if I’m wrong, but I would imagine, if I were you, I’d have sort of mixed feelings. On the one hand, I’d like to see a fellow governor of my party, at least ex one, out there swinging and succeeding and pushing issues. On the other hand, you know, I might have political aspirations myself and I don’t want anybody in my way. Do you feel that way, sort of, like, you know, in some ways, you know, you may be — she may be your challenger in a couple of years.
HUCKABEE: Well, she may be the person I get behind. You know, it may be a lot more fun to support somebody than it is to go out and be that person. It is a grueling, incredibly demanding schedule to run for president, and the risks are high. I love what I’m doing. I have no idea, my future, and you know, I’m not about to do anything other than right now, I hope Sarah Palin does extremely well because I think she’s an important voice for our party.
I want her to succeed, and I’m delighted to see her continuing to use her voice because I do think that she rallies people. She brought electricity to the Republican ticket last year, when, frankly, there was about as much excitement as you would see, you know, at a — at a Baptist dance, which means there wasn’t any, until she showed up for the ticket. And then there was fire going forth.
So she has a role to play. Whether she runs or not, she has an important voice, and I hope she remains — let me be real clear — a part of the Republican Party. I’m a little concerned when I hear her say that she may sort of branch out and go third party or go independent. That would be a big mistake because we need to rebuild the Republican Party, not abandon it.
VAN SUSTEREN: And you said that you’d be happy to stand behind her or support her. I’m sure she would say the same thing about you, Governor. Governor, thank you very much, sir.
HUCKABEE: Good to talk to you, Greta.
VAN SUSTEREN: And of course...
HUCKABEE: Always a pleasure.
I’m in NC, and surrounded by a so called Liberal culture but everyone I talk to isn’t very ‘LIBERAL’ right now. The percentage of true liberals is not very high. It is/was being distorted by the desire for hope and change - that’s why they pounded that message into the ground so hard. Great thing is, that message is 100% recyclable material and will work even better in 2012 - but not from the Dems, and not from the Republicans - they had their shot big time in ‘94 and blew it big time and everyone will remember that for a 100 years. We are undergoing a major shift in philosophy in our nation - times like these demand we shed the past failure of the Republican Party or be completely lost. The Republican Party is dead. It is nothing more than a fring group made of people seeking their own little power bases. The Republic Party has no core beliefs. In fact, it has no core anything. Like an apple with the center missing, it got squishy pretty damn fast.
DIE HARD REPUBLICAN PARTY -
AND LONG LIVE THE CONSTITUTIONALISTS!
Who could blame her and conservatives? But it will make the socialists stronger. It will be a repeat of the Ross Perot election that gave old 40% Clinton 4 more years.
There are already third parties. She should pick one of them and run if she is leaving the GOP. Meghan McCain and her dad will be so happy to get rid of us “knuckle draggers” and I know there are plenty of Americans who despise both parties and their global government/banksta agenda. Then they can have the Rino pup tent to themselves and be hip for the socialists’ party circut.
We are not going to get the party together with Rinos in charge so maybe we need to kill the GOP or make the Rinos followers rather than leaders with a third party election.
I guess you know that there are already 49 “third parties” and several of them are wonderfully conservative and constitutional and perfect, except that they don’t do as well as liberal “third parties” and all the third parties combined scraped away a total of 1.4% of the national vote and not a single electoral vote.
But his daughter, his wife and his ex-campaign manager and all the others linked to his campaign (like Mike Murphy, McCinnon, Todd Harris... ) have now 'come out of the closet' determined to move the party to the left and in doing so, have dumped on PALIN in different publications recently... They are ALL CONNECTED... and these are the ones who want to get rid off of Sarah, after all for them, electing RINOs and Lefties is a very good business first and who knows what else
I used to ask: WHO IS THE GOP????... (no one has ever given a good answer) Well...these weasels ARE PART OF THE GOP... They think they know better than us what's good for the party. They are the ones who are supposed to have ALL THE ANSWERS... So weak RINOs or simply leties like McCain listen to them.
So, the battle lines are drawn...

Just a thought, she could call it the Democrat Republican Party. But I think she'll try to win the Republican Primary. If she doesn't, she can opt to run against both parties on a DR ticket.
Stranger things have happened.
More like the No Bull$h!t Party.
my issues are ending abortion, gun rights (to throw off tyranny), reasonable immigration hopefully from folks more likely to assimilate and share our values...something Ted Kennedy never wanted in the first place and closing our borders to folks without visas, taking back our traditional values based culture and preserving our freedom, sovereignty and heritage
then comes fiscal conservatism except the way Obama and the Dems are going we may have to move fighting back against their excess further up to right after gun rights
but, the left is simply too strong for us to fracture...I simply do not know how we will ever make groups think and vote socially conservative if they do not get it by aged 35 and we have done this to ourselves
i fear how our new demographics will continue to vote...how do you reach folks who for generations have voted against social or fiscal conservatism? i don't know to be honest..
Obama, Mitt and Huck would love to see Sarah go Third Party.
