That’s pretty extreme. LOL Wonder what my great, great, great grandmama would think of that?

Even the sugest hiding places are foolish.

That's why I put mine outside in the shed that doesn't have electricity...fires and all. I have my ammo there too.

If you keep your front door locked and make sure the spare key is well hidden under a fake plastic rock with your favourite NFL team logo on it nearby, you won’t need to hide the cash.

CRAP!! Now I gotta go move the key!

You know what? I don’t use keys any more. I have electronic combination deadbolt locks on the two exterior doors. If I ever need to change the combinations, it takes about 30 seconds and costs nothing. They run on 1 9-volt battery each and it will warn me when it’s getting low.

But don’t get too clever. My late mother hid some of her jewelry and (we suspect) a substantial cache of money, and we never found it.

And you think hiding stuff in a paint can - in a plastic bag - UNDER a skin of dried paint isn't "too clever"? I can see why you never found Mom's jewelry - same gene pool...

We have a huge wardrobe in our bedroom that holds our TV. The other shelves are full of books. The bottom shelf is actually a false bottom. Underneath is a compartment that could hold lots of stuff. I don’t have anything in there but I have thought about it.

Make sure you know where the contents of your safe deposit box are. I have had my business account with Compass (known by 6 other names in the past-now owned by Spain) since 1986! Had stuff in my safe deposit box there. Went into the city last Friday to retrieve some stuff and discovered that the branch where the box was located had been torn down. They said they tried to notify me but had the incorrect address. I told them it was the same one they used when they notified me their fees were going up. Contents finally located and now in my possession and am in process of changing banks!

I was figuring if you hid the money in an old toy in your kid’s room, you’d either end up with your kid deciding to play with that toy, or the mother ending up giving the toy to the goodwill.

It’s probably easier just to hide the money in toys by buying a lot of toys, cutting out the middle man.

Without casting aspersions on my wife, she is really quite frugal, I do know a number of people for whom this would be the quickest to ensure the money wasn't there when they needed it.

Amen to that. It'd be too easy for my wife to take "just a little," with the best intentions of putting it back. And we all know how successful that plan usually is.
