In case there was any doubt, AARP does in fact regurgitate Sarah Brady Gun Control Talking Points on their website.

(Excerpt) Read more at johnjacobh.wordpress.com ...

TOPICS: Business/Economy; Politics; Society
KEYWORDS: aarp; banglist; ccw; rkba
As in the case of Lowe's Building Supply (before public pressure caused them to remove it), AARP buries the page deep in the website under Health or Safety for Chiiildrun.

Best regards to all,

Firearms should always be stored unloaded and separate from ammunition.
Excuse me Mr. KrazyEyes Killer. I've got my gun right here but I have to run upstairs, unlock my ammunition cabinet, load the gun and then return to deal with you. Please, make yourself at home. I shan't be a minute!

That’s no surprise. The AARP was pushing feminist (i.e., anti-family) policies during the early or mid-’90s.

I don’t know why they won’t take me off their mailing list—I’ll never be able to retire, and actually want to work till I’m called home.

Just to be fair... Go to AARP site and use the search feature. Try “gun” as a word, then “firearms”. Really can not find anything substantial on the site using their search engine.
So is just a hit piece???

I wonder where they thought future Social Security payments were going to come from? These people are bereft of the wisdom that age supposedly brings.

Don't know about this piece, but AARP's lobbying has been known to include an anti-gun slant since the 1990's at least.

I canceled my AARP membership a few years ago because of their incessant lib-oriented lobbying, this being just one of many examples. Any benefits I might have received were not worth the moral problem of supporting their lobbying efforts.

To be fair to AARP, the page linked to from the "johnjacobh" blog article wasn't written by/for the AARP, it's generic health information 'branded' by the AARP web site. The bottom of the firearms page reads:
This article has been licensed by Healthline from Thomson-GALE...

You may need to change the oil in your computer. When I use their search engine all kinds of gun/firearm posts come up.

Curiously, the "health" page does not.

For that you have to use the direct link provided.

I might fool with the search engine later, but I doubt supplying a link to a page they apparently only want certain people to see constitutes a "hit piece"

Not that they do not need to be hit.
