I have been reading some discussion regarding guns and ammunition recently and as a lady have always had trouble with a shotgun or rifle due to the length of the barrel. I can use it, but sometimes uncomfortable or not able to aim quickly due to the weight or size.
I went to Walmart today and there is a nice rifle there made by Rossi that is $147. It has an interchangable barrel between a .22 or a .410. So if they are out of one type of ammo, you can go with the other if necessary.
Also, the barrel is short and the gun itself is very lightweight.
So I thought I'd share.

Safety first.
1)Always assume gun is loaded.
2)Never point it at anything you don't intend to shoot.
3)Never put your finger on the trigger unless you intend to shoot.
4)With rights come responsibilities.

A gun post?
You’ll never get a response to a gun post here on FR.
Nope. No way, no how.
Folks around here just don’t seem to be interested in guns, that’s what I’ve noticed.

That's my wife's gun. I shoot one of these.

The trick is practice, learn all there is to know about your weapon, no matter which one you choose. Practice until it becomes second nature. If you need it for home defense you won’t have time to read the instruction manual.22 Ammo is cheap, so burn it up.

I appreciate the information. I, too, have always found my husband’s rifles to hard to handle. I am on my way to Walmart.

I don't have my CCW permit yet, so it's just a house and practice gun for now. I'm kind of, ahem, plus sized (5'10" and 225 lbs) and with the shirt sizes I wear, I imagine I can carry it with an IWB holster. If it turns out I can't, I might look into a Springfield Armory XD9, or a 1911 Officer.
