Went out for a bit, running some errands. Mid-70s and sunny -- ah, summertime! *\:-)
It’s ugly here. My hands hurt, my back and neck hurt, and I want my mommie!
There are still more errands awaiting me, but they will have to wait. I’ve done all I can do for a day like today.
Have you recovered from your trip?
I grew up with that song being blasted out of the neighbor’s hospitality house every weekend.
Reason enough for my curmudgeonly streak.
*Gargh!*
I had to dance to that nasty thing in grade school. In the winter. When recess was canceled because of snow. But we still got released to walk home in the stuff....

I’m impressed. I went to bed for most of the afternoon.
Yes, everything but rising time. Unfortunately my body clock has passed through EDT on its way home -- and in 48 hours I'll be in EDT.
I've already started packing for the next trip, but mostly just the ditty bag, making sure it's up to date and with a few extras for this trip.
Man. I’ll be tired for you, OK?
Igor used to do what you’re doing. Seems I was always at some airport or another, sending him off or waiting for his arrival.
(Aerospace contractors can be so inconsiderate....)
I’m probably going to go take a hot soak for a bit. Then about 5 we’re off to church; our rector is leaving and we’re having a good-bye potluck this evening following solemn Evensong.
That’s sad. We had a hugh blowout when our previous pastor retired, but we’re a very large congregation, too.
LOL. I got a 40% off coupon from Borders so one of my errands was to go by Borders in Redmond Town Center and see if the new annual Best of SF anthology was out yet. Met up with LoM there and we went to the store. Anthology wasn't out yet, but she saw "The Wall Street Journal Guide to.... POWER TRAVEL." (Written by the guy who writes "The Middle Seat" column in the WSJ.) What the heck, at 40% off it's not too much, so we got it. *\;-)
But it is sad. He's been here only 3-1/2 years though he's made some great changes. And it's much more pleasant than his predecessor's angry departure (he and the bishop never got along).
The bishop has 3 good candidates this time (he had identified 5, but two were not interested). They each seem to have strengths in different areas so the selection will be interesting.
A down economy is a perfect time for a potluck! If each family brings twice as much food as they’d personally eat, you’ll have what seems like a blowout ;-).
The Knights of Columbus paid for Father Hawker’s retirement party, and then hit the members up for contributions to refill the treasury later. Free entertainment, and we own the building, so food was the only cost.
I’ll always buy books at 40% off! (LOL!)
When we lived in Oly (Igor was in Saudi Arabia) we “lived” at the local bookstore. I set a limit of $40 per visit, but back then, that could buy a LOT of books!!
We were there so often that we got discounts just for coming in!
Our cat will chew a portion off of any unguarded plastic grocery bag, then barf it up for us overnight.
Just another thoughtful service our little furniture shredder provides.
Cheers!
Oh, nice. Shannon likes to spew un-chewed food on the windowsill behind the sofa. Usually four days a week.
C&H try that, but I give them too much Vaseline...it just goes right through them....
Wednesday’s issues don’t usually including vomiting, fortunately.
DP had to go over to church to help the other Spanish music group with the sound (and the locks ;-), but he can take Anoreth for a haircut while they’re practicing, and run in the morning when it’s cooler. Don’t know when OldTax-lady is expected. 9-ish, I guess, if she gets on the first flight out of Orlando.
Blink your eyes just once and see everything in ruins
